Monza McCann
Alonzo. McCann, 81, of RR 3,
Ailsa Craig, former reeve and
councillor of Stephen Township,
died in St. Joseph's Hospital, Lon-
don, on Saturclay, August 13.
Mr. McCann, a retired farmer,
served as reeve for two different
periods totalling nine years and
was also a councillor for several
years,
He is survived by his wife, the
former Laura Dietrich, of RR 3,
Ailsa Craig; three daughters, Mrs.
Theodore (Regina) Lane, Hartford,
Conn.; Mrs, Leo (Nadeline) Reg-
ier, Mt. Carmel; and Mrs, Herb-
ert (Ruby) Person, Pontiac, Mich.;
five sons, Lawrence, William and
Arnold, of Stephen Township; Jo-
seph, Zurich; John, of McGillivray
Township; one brother, Benjamin,
Zurich; and 42 grandchildren.
The body rested at the T. Harry
Hoffman funeral home, Dashwood,
until Tuesday, when requiem high
mass was at the Church of Our
Lady, Mt. Carmel.

Amelia McOinchey
Mrs, Amelia McClinchcy, 76, of
Clinton, died Friday, August 12.
She was the former Amelia Zapfe,
of Bayfield, and was married to
William R. McClinchey.
She resided at Holmesviile fol-
lowing her marriage and attended
the Holmesville United Church.
Her husband died in 1957.
Surviving are several sons, Carl,
Elmer, George, all of Clinton; Al-
bert, Goderich; John, Zurich; Wil-
liam, London; Clifford, Ottawa;
four daughters; Mrs. Myrtle Black-
well, London; Mrs, Paul (Marie)
Dawson, Bristol, In.; Mrs. James
Emma Cox, Mrs. Lloyd (Phyllis)
Butler, both of Clinton; one broth-
er, William Zapfe, Saskatoon; one
sister, Mrs. Louise Kennedy, Point
Edward; 29 grandchildren and nine
great grandchildren.
The body rested at the Bali and
Mutch funeral home, Clinton,
where the funeral service was held
on Monday at 2 p.m. Burial was
made in -Bayfield cemetery. Rev.
J. A. McKim officiated.

MR. AND MRS. LEONARD GARY POUNDER were married
in Trinity Anglican Church, Bayfield, on Saturday, August 13, by
the Rev. E. J. B. Harrison. The bride is Beverley Louise, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Heard, Bayfield, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pounder, Goderich. They will reside

companied by her mother, Eliza-
beth Oesch. She remained there
fdr a few days visiting friends.

Norma Jean, and Mr. and Mrs.
Keith Gingerich and family, spent
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Donald
Schwindt at Baden.

Hoffman Reunion
Ai Mount Carmel
The annual Hoffman reunion,
which was to be held at the Com-
munity Park in Exeter, was mov-
ed to the Parish Hall in Mt. Car-
mel, because of rain.
Races and games were played,
One hundred relatives and friends Z
attended the reunion from Chat-
ham, Kitchener, London, Dash-
wood, Crediton and Zurich.
Mr. and iVtrs. Johnnie Bali won
the prize for the nearest wedding
anniversary,
The 1961 Reunion will be held
the first Sunday after Civic Holi-
day in the Exeter Park.
