Mr. and Mrs. Norman Sararas, Waterloo, visited at the home of Mrs. Adeline Sararas over the long holiday week end. Mr. and Mrs. T. Morita and fa- mily, Toronto, and Miss Gloria Gingerich, R.N., of Kitchener, were holiday visitors at the home of DIr. and Mrs. Jacob Gingerich. Mr, and Mrs. E. D. Brown and children,, Oshawa, were holiday vi- sitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Meyers, with the children staying for a few days holidays with their grandparents, Also spen- ding holidays at the Meyers home are Heather and Cynthia Hope, Streetsville. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pulford and family, London, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Oxland and family, of Kitchener, were holiday visitors at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Ferd Haberer. SUFFERS INJURY Rudolph Stade had the misfor- tune last Tuesday to fall from a tree and fracture his right arm. He was treated at Clinton Pub- lic Hospital. FISHING TRIP Mr. and Mrs. Don O'Brien, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Don Oke, and Mr. and Mrs, Doug O'Brien spent the holiday week end on a fishing trip to -Shwanega. They report the fish- ing as being very good. 'Airs. Laura Prevost. Detroit, spent a weeks' holiday with her mother, Mrs. Matilda Dietrich and brothers, on the Babylon Line. • Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Greeter were Mrs. Ken Safranski and son, Kenny, Miss Laura Quenneville and friend, of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Quenneville and fa- mily, and Mr. and Mrs. Mayeu and family. of Tilbury. Carole and Cathy Grenier, dau- ghters of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Grenier, had their tonsils removed in Clinton Public Hospital and are getting along very nice. Mrs. Barbara Henry, Mrs. Ei- leen Serinus, Mrs. Alma Rudisell, and Mrs. Luella Witmer, all of De- troit. spent last Wednesday at the NALS home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stein - back. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Mantey, and son, Donald, and friend, from Chicago, spent the past week end with Mr. and Mr.. Julian Mantey and Donald, near Zurich, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hartman and son, Windsor, Mr. Michael Hartman. Trenton, spent the week end with their mother. Michael was transferred from a Toronto branch to the Bank of Nova Sco- tia. Trenton. We congratulate hire and wish Trim success in the pro- motion he has received. A very pleasant day was spent at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray- mond Hartman, Goshen Line South, when the Hartman family gathered to celebrate the 10th year of the farm in the Hartman name and in the same generation. Mrs. C. Tearcy, Mr. I. G. Math- ers, Los Angeles, California, and Mr. W. G. Mathers, Grandforks, B.C., are visiting their sister, Mrs. Chris Heist, and Mr. Haist. It is 51 years since the one brother and sister have seen each other. Mr. and Mrs. Morley Witmer, of Detroit, spent the holiday week end with relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Neil, of Detroit, were holiday visitors at the home of Mrs. Pearl Mellick. Mr, and Mrs, P. J. Cunningham and two children, of Willowdale, were week end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Smith. The family is remaining with Mrs. Cun- ningham's parents for the summer while Mr. Cunningham is in charge of a large survey project at Elliott Lake. Don Kyle, who has recently been transferred to the Calgary, Alber- ta, plant of General Coach Works, from the Hensall plant, is spending some time with his family here, prior to moving to Calgary. Mrs, Kyle has been a member of the Hay Township school area teach- ing staff. ATTEND CONVENTION Mr. and Mrs. Toni Rawlings and family were in Toronto on Thurs- day, Friday, Saturday, and .Sun- day, for the four-day district con- vention of Jehovah's Witnesses at the C.N.E. grounds. Highlight of the week end ac- tivity was a Sunday afternoon pub- lic talk by F. H. Franz, vice-pre- sident of the Watchtower Society, Brooklyn, on the subject "Security During War of the Great Day of God the Almighty," attended by 26,702. The theme of the assembly was "seeking peace and pursuing it." Many of the 27 discourses given dwelt upon the maintaining of the family unit in days in which great stress and pressure are brought to bear upon families earth -wide. The bride is Erla Cealiea, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hay, Zurich, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Smale, Hensall. The couple will reside in Zurich. (Citizens News Photo) OBITUARY Mrs. James Rannie A resident of Zurich for many years, Mrs. James George Rannie passed away in the Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall, on Wed- nesday, June 29, in her 73rd year. The former Susie May Jacobi, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Jacobi, and was born in Hay Township on Ju- ly 31, 1888. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Rennie farmed on the Babylon Line, east of Zurich, be- fore retiring to Zurich some years ago. Her husband died last year. Surviving are three sisters: Mrs. Garnet Deters, Hay Township; Mrs. Mabel Snider, Sarnia; and Mrs. Hilton Truemner, Hay Town- ship. The body rested at the West- lake funeral home, Zurich, until Saturday, July 2, where the fun- eral service. was held at 2.30 p.m., conducted by Rev. A. M. Amacher. W. Brokenshire in charge. The opening hymn was sung, "0 Master let me walk with Thee", followed by a Psalm. All united in praying the evening prayer. Devotions closed with the singing of "Sun of my Soul." The secretary, Mrs. William Lawrence, read the minutes of the last meeting and all correspond- ence. The visiting committee re- ported 16 calls. After the usual business discussion, the meeting closed by repeating The Lord's Prayer. Mrs. Wm.
