Mrs. Chris Minke
A resident of Sullivan Town-
ship, in Grey County,. for many
years, Mrs. Christian Minke pas-
sed away in South Huron Hospi-
tal, on Tuesday, June 21, in her
8lst year. The former Wilhelmina
Modmann, she was born in Sul-
livan Township on January 31,

For the past number of years
Mrs. Minke had been in residence
with her daughter and son-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Oesch, in Zur-
ich. Her husband predeceased
her some years ago.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.
Milton (Lennita) Oeseh, Zurich;
one son, William, Sullivan Town-
ship; two sisters, Mrs. Christena
Sulkye, Chesley; Mrs. Robert Lip-
skie, Chesley; and one brother,
John Modmann, Elderslie Town-
ship. There are also two grand-
children and one great grandchild,
The body is resting at the West-
lake funeral home, Zurich, until
Thursday, when removal will be
made to St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, Sullivan Township, where
Mennonite Church
Has Bible School
The Zurich Summer Bible
School will be held at the .Zurich
Mennonite Church, from July 4
to 15. The school again offers the
Het piu Summer Bible School Ser-
ies, a closely graded curriculum
from Kindergarten to Grade IX.
The purpose and goal of the.
school is to bring every child
a public service will be held. at
2.30 p.m. Burial will be made in
St. Peter's Cemetery. Rev. W. P,
Fischer, Zurich, and Rev. C. Glick,
Desboro, will officiate.

Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Layton, Mit-
chell; and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mar-
tin, Russelldale.
BRIDAL SHOWER
On Friday evening a pleasant
surprise was afforded Miss Elaine
Grainger, bride -elect of July, when
over 60 friends and neighbours
gathered at the home of Mrs. Bert
Dunn Jr., and honoured her with
a shower.
A. program, consisting of a read-
ing, "Asking Elaine's Father," giv-
en by Mrs. Gladwin. Westlake; an
accordian solo by Helen Grainger;
and a reading "When Mother En-
tertains" by Lynnda Scotch/tier,
was much enjoyed.
A mock wedding was presented
with Carol Penhale taking the part
of the minister; Lillion Turner, the
bride; Susie Pollock, the groom;
Ilene Cleave, the best man; Patsy
Renner, bridesmaid; Joanne Lind-
say, the bride's weeping mother;
Gertie Steclrle, bride's father;
Wendy Greer, flower girl; 'Ellen
Lindsay, ringbearer. Wedding mu-
sic was supplied by Helen Grain-
ger.
Elaine Sehade gave a reading
"A Girl," which was followed by
the address, read by Anna Scotch -
mer. Margaret Scotchmer, Mae
Westlake, Carol Penhale and Eil-
een Dunn presented Elaine with a
rest rocker, a mirror, and a gift
of money.
Elaine replied thanking all who
were responsible for the lovelr
evening and invited everyone to
her trousseau tea on July 2,
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hudie, Clin-
ton, called on their aunt, Miss Rose
Snowden, last Saturday evening.
