The Women's Missionary Society
,$)f Goshen United Church met at
the home of the president, Mrs. El-
mer Hayter, on Thursday even-
ing, June 16, with 22 present.
The president opened the meet -
Mg ng with the Theme, "The Ser -
anon on the Mount," and "The
Parrables." Mrs, Russell Erratt
presided at the piano for hymns.
Mrs. Jean McKinley gave a Me-
ditation on the Power and the Pre-
sent. Sixteen calls to the sick were

made during the month. A thank-
you card was received from Mur-
ray McBride. A picnic at the church
grounds is to be held on July 17,
the regular meeting day of the
W.M.S..
A duet was sung by Mrs. Anson
McKinley and Mrs. Elmer Hayter,
accompanied by Mrs. Bruce Keys.
Mrs. Russell Erratt gave a read-
ing on Christian Stewardship.
Mrs, Bob Peck and Mrs. Jack
Eckel gave some interesting read-
ings for the study part of the pro -

MISSION BAND
The Goshen Mission Band met
on Sunday morning, June 19, with
Mrs, Clare McBride and Mrs. Jack
Eckel in charge. "For the beauty
of the skies" was sung with Dianne
Peck at the piano.
The worship period included
the Theme by Donna Peck; call to
worship by Gerald Hayter; Lead-
ing to Scripture by Larry McKin-
ley; Scriptures by Bob McBride
and prayer by Wayne Peck. Karen
McKinney took up the offering.
Jacqueline Peck read the minim
utes and the roll call was marked
by Bob Hayter with thirty-four
present. Two members had birth-
days. Larry McKinley gave the
treasurer's report, The story, "Ya -
bas Present" was on Nigeria with
Dianne McKinley doing the map
colouring and Margaret Armstrong
gave out the World Friends ma-
gazines and the meeting closed
with members repeating the Mis-
sion Band Purpose.

The Young Peoples Union of
Varna and Goshen held their an-
niversary service in Goshen United
Church on Sunday evening, June
19. Rev. Robert S. Hiltz, of Main
St. United Church, Exeter, was the
guest speaker. The choir render-
ed two special numbers with Don-
na Hayter at the organ.
Decoration Day Service was held
on Sunday at Baird's Cemetery
with Rev. T. J. Pitt assisting with
the service.

The senior grades of S.S. No. 7,
Stanley, Parr Line, with. Miss Jo-
anne Robinson teacher, enjoyed a
bus trip to Niagara Falls on Fri-
day, June 17.

Many parents and friends at-
tended the closing night of Brow-
nie and Guide meetings for the
summer, in Hensall United
Church, last Friday evening.
Miss Lauretta Siegner, Division
Commissioner, enrolled the follow-
ing Brownies, Janice Bonthron,
Beth Cook, Lynda Fuss, Linda
Hay, Dorothy Kipfer and Jane
Smith. Pauline Bell was enrolled
as a Guide.
Golden Bars were presented to
Betty Cameron, Arlene Chopehase,
Carolyn Cook, Pat Hume, Linda
Keys, Sharon Lavery, Cheryl
Mousseau, Patricia Parke; Golden
Hand, Linda Lenaghan; Minstrel
badges, Colleen Baynham, Lynn
Faber.
Receiving Brownie Wings and
Flying Up were Colleen Baynham,
Joyce Flynn, Flora Lee Johnston,
Suzanne Kyle, Linda Lenaghan,
Wendy Moir and Heather Reid.

Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Erb, ac-

Gingerich, spent the week end at
Kitchener and St. Jacobs,
Sunday guests with Mr. and
Mrs. Vernon Oesch and David Carl

Mr. and Mrs. Abner Weber and
family, of Wallenstein, spent the
week end with the latter's par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Menno Steckle

training at Kitchener -Waterloo
Hospital, Kitchener, spent a few
days last week with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Steckle.
