Ten men, from Dashwood, Cre- diton, Centralia, and other points in the township, urged that ques- tions on outlets be placed before the ratepayers, Clarence McDow- ell, Centralia, was spokesman for the group. About 40 friends and neigh hours gathered and presented her with a miscellaneous shower. Contests were enjoyed, under the direction of Mrs. Eugene O'Brien, and a humorous reading was given by Mrs. Gordon West- lake. This was followed by a mock wedding in which Louise Talbot acted the part of the minister; Mrs. William Talbot Jr., the groom; Ann Westlake, the bride; Rose Marie Talbot, the brides- maid; Mrs. Logan Cleave, best man; Evelyn. Hyde, mother of the bride; Mrs. Eugene O'Brien, the bride's father; Cathryn Grainger, the flower girl; and Brenda Tal- bot, ring bearer. HONOUR BRIDE - ELECT Mrs. Bodenham, Bayfield, was hostess at her home on Saturday evening when the ladies of the Baptist Church met to honour Miss Kathleen Talbot, bride -elect of July, at a miscelaneous shower. Contests, under the direction of Miss Ann Westlake, were enjoy- ed by all. Mrs, Ross Faber read the ad- dress and Evelyn Hyde and Ann Westlake presented the bride - elect with many lovely gifts. Kathleen generously thanked the ladies for their many gifts af- ter which the lunch was served, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Talbot, Tees, Alberta, arrived on Thurs- day to spend a few weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Talbot Sr. Mr. Talbot is pastor of the Church of God in Tees. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon. Westlake spent Saturday in Rodney. (Intended for last week.) 85TH BIRTHDAY Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hudie, Clin- ton, visited their aunt, Miss Rose Snowden, last Wednesday.. after- noon, May 31, the occasion being Miss Snowden's 85th birthday. Mrs. Hudie brought a birthday cake and ice cream with them and they enjoyed it along with a cup of tea. Miss .Snowden has spent the win- ter at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Douglas Gemeinhardt, but plans to return to her home very soon. Also calling later in the evening was Mrs. Russell Grainger.
