edged out a 3-2 victory over the
Stratford Nationals in Dashwood.
Steve Mitro was the hero in
the Monday night win over Strat-
ford, with his two -run homer in
the sixth inning. His drive sent
manager Bob Meharg across the
plate ahead of him, following Me-
harg's single.
Jim Attrill, a former Zurich
hurler; Steve Mitro; and Jim Rus-
sel shared the mound duties for
the Tigers, and gave upseven
hits in the nine inning contest.
Doug Fountain who went the route
or the Nats, allowed fiveonly
hits and struck out eight Dash-
wood batters.
Fred Wynne was the big gn
for Stratford at the plate, getting
a single and two doubles in three

The Dashwood Tigers won two
ball games during the past week,
to take undisputed possession of
first place in the Huron -Perth
Baseball League. Last Wednesday,
behind the fine pitching perform-
ance of Jim Russell, they down-
ning, and gave up two hits in the
time he hurled.
