Standards of yellow and white
mums decorated Goshen United
Church for a lovely summer wed-
ding on Saturday, June 4, at 3
p.m., when Merle Marie Arm-
strong and William Amos Stanbury
exchanged marriage vows before
the Rev, T, J. Pitt in a double -ring
ceremony. The bride is the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Arm-
strong, Varna, and the groom's
parents are Mr, and Mrs. Harold
Stanbury, Goderieh,
Mrs, Bruce Keyes, Varna, pro-
vided wedding music and accom-
panied. thetrumpet soloist, MO.
Clare McBride, Zurich, who play-
ed "The Lord's. Prayer" and "Be-
cause,"
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a formal gown of
nylon net and Chantilly lace. The
full bouffant skirt of Chantilly
lace featured a plain Dace front,
the back fashioned with tiers of
lace and net ruffles.
Her fitted bodice . was accented
by a sabrina neckline trimmed
with sequins and seed pearls, and
long lily point sleeves. A crown
of seed pearls held her shoulder
length veil of French illusion and
she carried a white Bible crested
with red roses.

Mrs. Douglas Armstrong Zurich,
attended the bride as matron of
honour and the bridesmaids were
Miss Lois Stanbury, Goderieh, and
Miss Mary Margaret Armstrong,
Varna, sister of the bride. The at-
tendants were gowned in identi-
cal frocks of pale mauve organza
over taffeta and she carried bou-
quets of yellow and white mums.
Gerald Riehl, Goderich, attended
the groom, and Douglas Armstrong
of Zurich, and Don Stanbury, God-
erich, ushered guests.
The reception for sixty-five
guests was held in the Dominion
Hotel, Zurich, lovely with a floral
background of yellow and white
mums and fern.
For receiving, the bride's moth-
er chose a gown of rose organza
with face trim and yellow carna-
tion corsage. The groom's mother
was gowned in blue figured crepe
with pink carnation corsage.
For travelling to Northern On-
tario the bride wore a white sheath
cotton dress with green trim and
accessories in white, with which
she wore a red rose corsage.

featuring lily point sleeves and
a sabrina neckline re -embroidered
with lace appliques. The bouf-
fant skirt, worn over a hoop, was
strewn with lace and medallions,
and a crown of rhinestones and
pearls held her finger tip veil of
French illusion and she carried
a white Bible crested with a white
orchid,
Mrs. Lloyd Cooper, Kippen, at-
tended the bride as matron of ho-
nor, and bridesmaids were Miss
Marilyn Taylor, Belmont, and
Miss Elaine Grainger, of Zurich.
The attendants were gowned in
identical frocks of Carribean blue
crystal charm, with scooped neck-
line, fitted bodice and full skirt,
overskirts in matching shades of
flocked nylon, organza petal head-
dress with matching face veils
and carried cascades of white
mums nestled in blue tulle.
Nancy Jenkins, of R.R. 3, Bel-
mont, was a dainty little flower
Miss Marilyn Joy Steckle, dau-
ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Steckle
of Bayfield, chose a blue and
white theme for her marirage to
William John Taylor, son of Mr.
and Mrs. John Tayor, Belmont, on
Saturday, June 4, at 2 p.m., in St.
Andrew United Church, Bayfield,
before a setting of white mums,
snapdragons and candelabra.
• Rev. Peter Renner, of Teeswa-
ter, performed the double -ring
ceremony. Mrs. R. S. Roddick, of
Bayfield, provided traditional wed-
ding music and accompanied the
soloist, Mrs. D. Kingsbury, of Bay-
field, who sang, "The Wedding
Prayer" and "I'11 Walk Beside
You."
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther, the bride chose for her wed-
ding a floor length gown of silk

The guests were ushered by Ro-
nald Bartley, of Belmont, and Don
Bell, of Clinton.
The bride's mother wore an em-
bossed dupont nyon sheath in fro-
sty pink, hat of plush petals in
matching tones with accessories
to match, and a corsage of pink
delight roses. The groom's mother
was attired in a similar shade of
brocaded satin, with matching pic-
ture hat and blending accessories,
and she wore a corsage of pink
delight roses.
The reception. was held in the
church parlors. Assisting in. serv-
ing the wedding dinner were Miss
Kathleen Porter, Mrs. Grant Ster-
ling, Miss Ruth McClinehey, Mrs.
Tom Penhale, and Miss Helen Me-

the bride wore a beige suit, hat,
shoes and purse in Mediterranean
blue with an orchid corsage.
