Clinton Public Hospital, where he
underwent an operation several
weeks gao.

er were Sunday visitors in London,
where they attended special ser-
vices at Trinity Lutheran Church,
and also a turkey dinner at the
London Teachers' College.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rader and
Joan, of the Goshen Line south,
were Sunday evening visitors at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin
Rader.

ATTENDED CONVENTION
Mrs. Jack Bannister attended
the 12th annual Ontario Women's
Institute Officer's Conference held.
in Guelph on May 4, 5 and 6.
The conference was attended by
more than 800 women, about dou-
ble the amount that usually at-
tend.
IN HOSPITAL
John Gellman is a patient in
t. Michael's Hospital. Toronto,
there he has undergone another
ye operation . The surgery was
erformed last Friday morning.
THANK YOU
The cookie day which was held
ast Saturday, under the auspices
f the local Girl Guides, was a de-
ided success. Over 153 boxes of
cookies were sold by the girls, and
they wish to express their sincere
thanks to all those who helped
the cause by buying from them.

Children Baptized
On Mother's Day In
Hensall Church

Christian Family Day was ob-
served last Sunday in the Hensall
United Church. In keeping with
the theme of motherhood, the sa-
crament of Baptism was celebrat-
ed.
The children receiving the rites
of baptism were: Brenda Louise
Clement, daughter of Mr. and Mrs,
William J. Clement; Kimberly Ha-
zel Corbett, daughter of Mr. an

presided for the regular meeting
of Amber Rebekah Lodge, on
Wednesday evening, May 4, Vice -
Grand. Mrs. Ernie Chipchase, re-
ported for the visiting: Mrs. E.
Shaddick for the finance: _3Irs.

for the C.P. and T. Committee: al-
so supper of District meeting.
Mrs. Alex McBeath gave a re-
port of the district meeting held
here on April 27. at which 47 Past
Nobles Grand's attended from
District 23. Miss Mabelle White-
man presented highlights of a ban-
quet held in Thamesville, at which
Mr. and Mrs. Archie Parsons, Miss
Whiteman, -firs. Harold Parker,
D.D..P, and Mrs. William Cald-
well, District treasurer, attended.
Thank you letters were received
from Miss A. Consitt, and Mrs.
Gertrude Butt, of Brussels. A do-
nation was voted to the Cancer .:
Fund. Members entertained guests
to euchre with eight tables in
play.. Winners were — ladies: Mrs.
Walker Carlile; consolation, Mrs.
Ed. Schroeder; gents: Bob Baker
Jr.; consolation, John Jarrott. Mrs.
Chipchase, convener of the mara-
thon euchre, presented prizes to
the following — ladies: Mrs. Clar-
ence Volland; Mrs. A. R. Orr; Mrs.
Ken McLean; gents: Howard Le-
mon; Lorne Chapman; Stanley
Mitchell.

Marriage vows were exchanged
by Maja Marie Roobol, and Don-
ald McFadzean Dodds, in a love-
ly spring wedding at Hensall Uni-
ted. Church, on Saturday, May 7,
before the Rev. R, C. Winlaw, mi-
nister of the church, assisted by
Rev. C. D. Daniel, Ingersoll, a for-
mer minister, amid a setting of
standards of pink and white snap-
dragons, ferns and candelabra.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Simon Roobol, Hensall,
and the groom's parents are Mr,
and Mrs. William Dodds, R.R, 1,
Seaforth,
Miss Greta Laramie presided at
the organ consol for the bridal mu-
sic and accompanied the soloist.
Mrs. Carl Payne. Hensall, who
sang "The Lord's Prayer" and
"0 Perfeet Love."
The bride. given in marriage by
her father. wore a beautiful bri-
dal gown of peau de soie, which
featured a scooped neckline edged
with guipure lace, long lily point
sleeves. The full long skirt had a
pleated side interest edged with
guipure lace in a lovely chapel
train. A tiara of sequins and seed
pearls held her fingertip veil of
pure silk illusion and she carried
a cascade of pink roses and step-
anotis,
Matron of honour. Mrs. Ray
Lee, Seaforth. and bridesmaids
Miss June Ross and Mrs. Ron De-
cker. both of London, were gown-
ed alike in street length dresses
of turquoise silk organza featur-
ing scooped necklines, styled with
full skirts with ruffled panels in
front and free ties of turqoise peau
de soie from the neckline at the
back. with matching headbands of
turqoise silk organza. They carried
cascades of pink and white carna-
tions

the groom, and Fred McGregor,
Bru.cefield, and Ron Gelderland,
Ridgetown, ushered the guests.
For receiving at the reception
in the church parlors the bride's
mother wore a teal blue brocade
two piece dress with three-quarter
length sleeves and Elizabethan col-
ar, pink, and black accessories.
The groom's mother chose a dus-
ty rose ensemble styled with a lace
bodice and three-quarter length
sleeves. Both wore corsages of
white carnations.
For travelling to Western Cana-
da the bride travelled in a bro-
cade beige and brown dress, over
which was worn a beige coat, acc-
essories in green and brown, and
a corsage of bronze coloured or-
chids.
They will live on the groom's
farm R.R. 1, Seaforth, The bride
is a graduate of the 1959 class of
the Victoria Hospital School of
Nursing. The groom attended the
Ontario Agricultural College at
Guelph. Guests were present from
Hensall, Brucefield, Seaforth, Clin-
ton, Blyth, Listowel, London, Sar-
nia, Sydenham, Guelph, Ridge -
town and Quebec.
