Carmel, St. Joseph Groups The Catholic Women's League of St. Boniface Parish, Zurich, held a "Holy Hour" in the church last Tuesday evening. Guests were present from the Leagues of Mount Carmel and the Bluewater Highway. The address to the ladies was given by Rev. Father O'Rourke, London. Mrs. Alphonse Hartman, pre- sident of the League at Mount Carmel, and Mrs. Matthew Denom- me, president of the League at St, Joseph, thanked the ladies of St. Boniface Parish for an enjoy- able evening. At the April meeting of the Ca- tholic Women's League of St. Bo- niface Parish, the new officers were elected. Mrs. Jack Pearson was re-elect- ed president, with the secretary, Mrs. Dennis Bedard Jr.; and the treasurer, Mrs, Mozart Gelinas. New business was discussed af- ter which Father Doyle gave a short address. During a ball game she was struck in the eye with the ball, HONOUR BRIDE ELECT A shower for June McClinchey was held in the school room of Goshen United Church on Wed- nesday evening, when friends and relatives of Goshen and 'Varna vi- cinity presented her with two step end tables and coffee table to match, two table lamps, and nu- merous other gifts. Mrs. Anson McKinley read the address, and Merle Armstrong and Donna Hayter made the presen- tation. Preceeding the presentation there was a short program, which consisted of a song by seven girls, "Sitting in the back seat"; a duet by Brian and Cheryl Peck, "How much is that doggie in the wind- ow"; a reading by Kathy McKin- ley; a clarinet and saxaphone du- et, "Harbour Lights," by Carol and Helen Taylor. W. M. S, The Women's Missionary Society met at the home of Mrs. Clarence Parke for the April meeting with 21 present. Mrs, Anson McKinley was in charge of the program, assisted by Mrs. Russell Erratt, Mrs. Clare McBride, and Mrs. Wal- ter Eckel. Mrs. Elmer Hayter conducted the business, which included an invitation to Turner's Church, on May 18, at 2.30, in the afternoon. A card was received from Mr. and Mrs. Campbell McKinley and Robert. Mrs. Anson McKinley al- so thanked the society for the yel- low rose sent to her while in the hospital.
