Pittsburgh Paints had some films which we felt people should see and know about. We decided to have a demonstration at the Town Hall. A skit was made up for the chil- dren in painting, etc, The first year we had Petaltone demonstrations. The results seemed to he so good from people we talked to, that we rented the Community Centre, in hopes that we would get enough people to fill the hall. This was a big success as we had around 250 people present at the show. The next year we had a similar show, only we brought in the odd refrigerator and range, with a spe- cial price on the year before clear- ance. Our main theme was colour..:,,. and Pittsburgh Paints. This was al- . so a decided success, but we had a lot of work. ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS PAGE SEVEN The next year we decided to make this an annual event, only we were going to do more at the show. We decided to build it around Home Improvements of all description. This was done; we got films from Emeo, Pumps and Softeners, Pittsburgh Paints, etc. That seemed to go over big. We also served free coffee and dough- nuts, Our crowds were around 450 to 500 and we had good re- sults. The work of getting refrigera- tors, ranges, etc., into this place and taking it out for one night was too much. It took a lot of work. The following year we decided to rtm the show for two days, af- ternoons and evenings. We cen- tred the show around Horne Im- provements in all descriptions. This was the best show yet. People that couldn't come one night, came the next. If the evening didn't suit, they came, in the afternoon. It also helped the town for shop- ping, etc., with the afternoon. That year we sold merchandise right at the show. Coffee and doughnuts were served and we had door priz- ses, same as other years, only much more attractions. The companies sent merchanidse up for display. We had the Tappen 400 line on display that years as the first. We did baking on the spot, etc. Some demonstrations were done. That sure was a success. However, the cost of a show such as this is ter- rific. The results were good and probably will be a big factor for the community. So in view of what it does for the people of the area and what the companies think, we are going to go ahead with, a big- ger and better show. April 21 and 22, Thursday and Friday afternoon and evening, we expect the biggest crowds in the history of the show. There are a MODERN VAN — This large new "workshop on wheels" has been a tremendous help to the Gingerich's firm, in the installation of new heating equipment. Inside the vehicle is a completely equip- ped workshop, making it unnecessary for their workmen to re- turn to the shop for any items they may need. Mr. Gingerich says this workshop on wheels saves many dollars for their customers. Shown here at the rear of the truck, loading a large new refrigera- tor for delivery, are employees, Earl Horner and Charles Eckel.
