Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hoffman, Al- bert Hoffman, and Jerry Hoffman attended the final profession of Brother Simon at St. G-errard's Novitate, at Keswick. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Oke and Mr, and Mrs. Lloyd O'Brien at- tended a meeting in Victoria Hos- pital, London, on Sunday, for the purpose of forming a London Chapter of the Canadian Cystic Foundation. Mrs. Oke was elected as secretary to the board of di- rectors. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hartman and son, Windsor, were week end visitors with his mother, Mrs. Theresa Hartman. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith over the week end were Mr. and Mrs. Russell Smith and family, Dublin, Miss Mary Catharine Roach, St. Colu- maan, and Mr, and Mrs. Bill Smith of Zurich. Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Dueharme, Dashwood, were Sunday visitors with Mrs. Theresa Hartman. Miss Donna Merner, London, spent the week end with her par- ents, Mr. and Mrs, Arnold Mer- ner. Miss Virginia Deichert, Kitch- ener, was a week end visitor with her family here. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hess, Wood- stock, were Sunday visitors with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hess. Miss Margaret Deichert, Kitch- ener, spent the week end in town at the home of her parents. Hugh MacKinnon, London, and Archie MacKinnon, Galt, were in town a day the past week. Moved To Scarboro Edward Deichert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Deichert, Zurich, has been transferred to the Bank of Montreal, Scarboro branch, from the branch he has been stationed at in Sarnia for the past several years. With the move Mr. Deich- ert has been promoted to second officer. The Bank in Scarboro is a new branch and will be officially opened on March 28. Mrs, Anne Turkheim presented the topic "Missions in the Bible". The topic aimed to give one an Blitz For World Refugee Year Is Set For May 16-21 A special meeting was held in Clinton last Thursday at the home of Judge and Mrs. Frank Fingland, by the Campaign Committee of the Huron County World Refugee Year Blitz., to further plans for the May 16-21 canvass. The World Refugee Year is a special humanitarian endeavour by the United Nations, governments, voluntary organizations and priv- ate persons "to help resolve the world refugee problem". Members of the committee wish to emphasize that while the churches are promoting World Refugee Year, the blitz is a fur- ther effort to encourage additional financial contributions from each family in Huron County. Objective for the canvass is $10,000—which represents a minimum of $1.00 per family. The blitz is being organized by a group of volunteer citizens re- presenting each area of Huron County. It was reported that offerings from the World Day of Prayer service amounted to $32.40 and that this amount had been forwar- ded to the Women's Inter -Church Council of Canada, Toronto. 0 Women's Institute The regular meeting of the Zur- ich branch of the Women's Insti- tute will be held at the home of Rev. and Mrs. Amacher on Tues- day, March 29, at 8 o'clock.
