LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Zurich Citizens News

Dear Herb:
Please find $2.M0 to cover re-
newal of my subscription to your
fine newspaper.
I see the Chamber is checking
into the possibility of attracting
industry. Far this you will need
all the help you can get., if I
may make a suggestion it may
be -worthwhile asking for assis-
tance frorn the Zurich "old
boys". The more contacts you
have the better. Somebody may
come up with a winning idea or
contact.
Industry is attracted by var-
ious items, with a favoured few
often proving irresistable. These
niay be availability of raw mat-
erials; . of know how, of skilled
labour, of cheap or close trans-
portation, of water, of nearness
of other plants, etc: Today the
the availability of recreational
and scenic assets • are often a
powerful influence. Zurich's lo-
cation and atmosphere is quite
attractive, but could be made
more so with addifional street
beautification by planting more
Had Birthday Party
A surprise birthday party for
Orval McClinehey was held at his
home on Sunday, when members
of his family were present. Also
attending the party were his two
sisters, Mrs. Alice Cook, London,
and Mrs. Warren Sehilbe, Exeter.
IN SUNNY SOUTH
Gordon Smith, of the Bluewater
highway, is spending a vacation in
San Juan, Porta Rico, an island in
the sunny south. Several of Gor-
don's friends have received cards
from him, in which he stated that
he is enjoying himself immensely
with the mercury around 80 deg-
rees. San Jaun is noted as a prize
city for beauty and cleanliness.
Gordon made the trip by plane, and
expects to return home sometime
this week.
HOSPITAL NEWS

Mrs. Stewart Thiel, of the Goshen

Mrs. Herb Mousseau was taken
to South Huron Hospital, Exeter,
last Friday, by Westlake Ambul-
ance.

and Mrs. Kenneth Gascho and Ch-
ris Gascho motored. to London on

Victoria Hospital.
shade trees, creating more flow-
er gardens, and completing the
proposed park.
Sometimes the availability of
buildings or money is a great at-
traction.
Light industries making com-
ponents for large industries, or
plastics, or wood, are often found
in smaller towns.
The tourist industry is also one
which has big possibilities. 'With
its closeness to Lake Huron and
other attractions, Zurich could
be developed into a tourist town
by capitalizing and expanding
on its citizens spirit, fine food,
sports and outdoor assets, as well
as accomodation. Several game
farms, under provincial licence,
have been established in Ontario
this year. These permit the hunt-
ing of pheasants for a fee for
several months each year under
the regulations, Food and lodg-
ing are part of the project. This
has proven attractive to malty
hunters.
The possibility of establishing
any of various types of tourist
attractions could be explored.
Yours truly
