Born in Hay Township, on Nov- ember 5, 1896, Mr. Regier was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Regier. Mr. Regier had lived in Zurich for the past ten years, after leav- ing his farm on the Goshen Line, south of Zurich, now owned by his son, Gerald. He was a mem- ber of the Holy Name Society, of St. Boniface R.C. Church, Zurich. He is survived by his wife, the former Idella, Denomme; sons Gerald and Alvin of Hay Town- ship, Godfrey and Lorne of Windsor and Warren of Zurich; daughters, Mrs. Maxine (Marcella) Overholt, of Stanley Township, and Mrs. Milfred (Blanche) Over- holt, of London, and Mrs. Ferdin- and (Vivian) Popier, Mrs. Leon- ard (Rosalie) Jennings and Mrs. Wayne (Winnifred) Quinn, all of Windsor; brothers, John, of Sea - forth, Anthony of Detroit and Geo- rge, Edwin and Lawrence, all of Hay Township; sisters, Mrs. Lou- ise Miller, London, Mrs. Irene Ducharme of Windsor, and Mrs. Ted Denomme of Stephen Town- e , ship. There are also 28 grand- children. Requiem High Mass was cele- brated on Saturday morning, at 10 a.m., in St. Boniface R. C. Church, Zurich, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Father C. A. Correspondent) Husbands were special guests of the Hensall Women's Institute at their February meeting, held in the Legion Hall last Wednes- day evening. President, Mrs. Fred Beer, who presided, announced that the travelling basket had been started and members would be receiving it in the near future. Plans were finalized for a bus trip to attend the Ice Capades at Kitchener, Wednesday, March 2. Anyone Interested is asked to ph- one Mrs. Beer so early arrange- ments can be made. Mrs. George Hess was appoint- ed a delegate to attend the Public. Relations Officers Conference at Guelph in May. Members answered the roll call with "What I left undone to come tonight". and a thank you letter was read from the Salvation Army for a Christmas donation. Program convener Mrs. Harry Horton was in charge of the pro- gram which included selections on the piano aceordian by Bobby Erb, and a humorous "Leap Year" reading by Miss M. Ellis. A social hour of cards was en- joyed and the winners were: Ladies, Mrs. T. C. Coates; Mrs. Annie Saundercock; men, Mrs. Erb, W. R. Dougall. Program conveners, Mrs. H. MacMillan As Director At the Annual Meeting of the Children's Aid Society of Huron County last Thursday, Mrs. Mary Chaffee resigned as Director of the Society, having reached retire- ment age. Mrs. Chaffee has com- pleted 40 years of social work, twenty of which have been spent in Huron, coming here in June, 1940 as the first social worker. She has been able to see the wholepicture of social work un- fold and has helped develop the Huron County Society to the sc- ope it has reached today. The Board of Directors consid- ers it very fortunate in being able to announce the appoint- ment of Rev. MacMillan as the new director to take effect Oct- ober, 1960. Mr, MacMillan has been president of the board for the past eight years, He has be- come very interested in the prob- lems of the youth of today and is at a personal sacrifice accept - Horton, Mrs. Bruce Koehler; host- esses, Mrs. William Brown, Mrs. R.
