Huron. Hog Producers Re-elect At
fiery Meeting Held In Clinton
Despite talk of dissent among
the hog producers, and some in-
dications of dissatisfaction with
the marketing plan as it now ex-
ists, Huron County Hog Producers
last Wednesday endorsed the
whole organization, by re-electiii
the same executive that looked
after their affairs in 1959, and
made few changes in the direc-
torate.
Ross Love, RR 2, Hensall, is
again president; Albert Bacon,
Belgrave, is first vice-president;
Lloy; Stewart, RR 1, Clinton, is
secor vice-president and Alfred
H. \: mer, RR 1, Bayfield, is
again eeretary-treasurer.
T1* was perhaps one of the
more ".ery meetings to be held by
the h g producers, apparently be-
cause the supporters of the Farm
Union movement had their cam-
paign more firmly in hand. How-
ever, though heated words were
exchanged, cries of "Not demo-
cratic" were heard and a sturdy
debate was carried out by guest
speaker Charles McInnis, Toron-
to, and Gordon Hill, Varna, the
meeting was kept well in hand
and the atmosphere was good
natured.
Over 200 persons attended from
the county, and some visitors from
Perth were noted.

These 16 delegates (one from
each township were nominated by
a committee made up of Lloyd
Stewart, Hullett; Les, , Fortune,
Turnberry and Bill Coleman, Stan-
ley Township,
Only one other nomination was
made—that of Philip Durand as
alternate in Stanley, but the vote
went to Jack Scotchmer.
To make up the 23 delegates,
seven directors at large were
nominated from the floor, and
elected were: Simon Hallahan,
Belgrave; Elgin Porter, Varna;
Robert P. Allan, Brucefield; W.

The resolutions committee com-
posed of Robert Armstrong, East
Wawanosh; Alex McGregor, Tuck-

which were passed: first, in ap-
preciation of press, radio and TV
and, 'the second one was worded
as follows:

be it resolved that we, the Huron
County Hog Producers ask the
Ontario Farm Products Marketing
Board to delay a vote until the
Ontario Hog Products Marketing
Board and the federal deficiency
