Dennis is a pupil of Miss Idella Gabel. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Klopp and Mr. and Mrs. H, W. Brokenshire attended the funeral of their un- cle, the late Abel Schilbe, in Kit- chener on Wednesday. Mr, and Mrs. Edmund Bedard, St. Claire Shores, Mich„ were weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bedard, in Zurich. Mr. and Mrs. Felix Geoffrey1 and Mr, and Mrs. Fergus Geoffrey, London, were Saturday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Geoffrey, Mr. and Mrs. John Daly, Det- roit, were weekend visitors at the home of Mrs. E. Bedard. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Peachey, Detroit, are guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Brokenshire. They also attended the funeral of Mrs. Peachey's cousin, the late Mrs. Dorothy Johnston. Father Richard Bedard, Toron- to, spent a few days with mem- bers of his family in Zurich, also attending the funeral of the Sate Fred Regier. Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Hanly, Clinton, were Tuesday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs, Roy Lamont. Mrs. (Rev,) E. J. Fischer, Broad- hagen was a recent visitor at the home of Rev. .and Mrs. W. P. Fischer. Gordon Block has returned home after being hospitalized in the Clinton Public Hospital. . Attending the funeral of the late Mrs. Dorothy Johnston were: Dr. Archie MacKinnon, Galt; Hugh MacKinnon, London; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Truemner, Toronto, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Herman, Woodstock. Hey, Blake, and Mrs. William Hay attended the funeral of the late Clifford Sherrit, at Grand Bend, on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Oxland. and family, Kitchener, were week- end visitors at the home of Mrs. Oxland's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferd Haberer. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Meyer and Mrs. Melvin Brown called on their brother, Charlie, who is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, They are happy to report that their brother is improving, but he is still on the critical list. WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 1960 " GRANNIE TURKIIEIM'S RECIPE BOX Hedgehogs 11/a cups coconut 1 cup chopped nuts 2 cups chopped dates 2 eggs 1 cup brown sugar 1 tablespoon butter coconut to mill Mix together all ingredients and stir well. Roll teaspoonful of mix- ture in coconut. Bake in 300 de- gree oven for 10-15 minutes, un- til delicately browned. Petit Choux (SnmalI Cream Puffs) 1 cup water 1/z cup butter 1 cup sifted Cour 4 eggs Heat water and butter together to boiling point in pan. Stir in flour. Stir constantly until mix- ture leaves the pan and forms in- to a ball (about 1 minute). Remove from heat. Cool. Beat in eggs one at a time, Beat mixture until smooth and velvety. Drop from spoon onto ungreased baking sheet making 18 tiny puffs the size of a walnut. Bake at 425 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes, Fill with Rich Custard Filling. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Letts, London, were weekend visitors at the home of the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Kalbfleisch. Miss Gloria Deitz and Miss Mar- garet Wilson, London, were week- end visitors with friends and rela- tives in Zurich. Saturday night about 40 friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Ur- ban Pfile met at their home in honour of Mr. Pfile's 60th birth- day. A social evening was enjoyed, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Kalbfleisch spent a few days in Toronto last week, and also visited in Fort Erie with Rev. and Mrs. L. Kalbfleisch. Miss Donna Merner, London, was a weekend visitor at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arn- old Merner. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gascho and Mrs. Anne Turkheim were week- end visitors with relatives in To- ronto. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Rose, Wy- andotte, Mich., were weekend vis- itors with Mrs. L. Rose. Mr. and. Loran Amacher, who is attend- ing London Medical School, spent the weekend with his parents, at the Evangelical U.B. Parsonage. Stir in milk and cook over low heat, stirring, until it boils. Boil one minute. Remove from heat. Stir a little of this mixture into beaten egg yolks Annual Meeting The annual meeting of Goshen United Church was held' in the church, following a pot luck sup- per, on Friday, February 5. Rev. Pitt opened the meeting with scripture and prayer. Mrs. Arnold Keys was appoint- ed secretary for the evening. Roy McBride gave the report of the sessions. There were five baptisms three burials, five received on profession of faith and one by certificate. Four members were removed by certificate which leav- es a membership of 119. Mrs. Elmer Hayter reported that the Woman's Missionary Society had raised $317.50; Mission Band, $71.21; and Baby Band, $20.52. Mrs. Roy McBride reported $187.- 04 for the Woman's Association. Roy Lamont reported for the par- sonage committee. Elmer Hayter gave the treasur- er's report, It showed a balance of $163.62 on hand. Keith McBride and Bernard Keys were appointed .to the Board of Stewards. The trustees were re -appointed with ,Harold Peck's name being ,added. Will Clarke resigned as a mem- ber of the parsonage board, with Melvin. Elliott named to take his place. Elmer Hayter was appointed treasurer again, with auditors be- ing Elgin McKinley and Roy Mc- Bride. or eggs. Mend into hot mixture in saucepan. Bring to boiling point. Cool and blend in vanilla.
