The case of Cook et al. vs, Ham-

ty Court last month, was before
Judge Dickson, at G•oderich, last
week. H.'Cook, Sons & Co., the
defendant, Jaynes Hamilton, lives,
at Clinton. The plaintiffs claim-
ed that last winter the defendant
agreed to sell to them 1,000 bush-
els of oats at 61c a bushel, and
300 bushels of winter weath at $1.75
a bushel. 1?laintrffs delivered to
defendant the bags in which the
grain was to be shipped, but the
grain was not delivered, Plainti-
ffs claimed 8490 and costs. On con-
sent of council His Honor ordered:
that after twenty days judgement
be entered for the plaintiffs for
$250 damages -with costs.
THE 'SOLDIERS' VOTE.
The soldier's vote so far as Ont-
ario is eencerjned, is likely to be
an important factor iin the corning
felectio'Yr. 1!n 1911 the total vote
in thiis Pro -dace was 355,738, the
smallest in a dozen years. In 1;914
largest vote on record was polled
when 462,450 ballots were cast.
The force recruited in Ontario up
to' present is [nearly 290,000 men,
and everyone of these whether or
not he has reached the age of ti
years, will have the right to vote
under. The new Franchise Act. It
is easily seen, then that nearly half
the vote cast in Ontario will be
byt he soldiers.
