In the Highway !Travel Act, as
amended at the rectent session,. a
new rule is made with regard to
the right of way at Crossroads.
IThe rule applies to all vehicles,.
whether horse drawn or motor
driven, where vehieles meet at
Crossroads or at cross streets, the
driver must give the vehicle. com-
ing to his right the right of way.
REMEDY FOR POTATO BLIGHT
Apply Bordeaux mixture for the
blight. Blight is 80% preventable
it vigorouslyy attacked now.
Bordeaux Mixture
Dissolve ;t lb of blue stone (cop-
per sulphate) and ;t lb. of quick-
lime (,unsllaeker) each separately in
granite basins in a small amount
of hot water. Then both these
mixtures should be mixed together
and sufficient water to make a 5.
gallons. To this mixture may be
added Paris Green to destroy the
bugs. Add the Paris Green at
each spraying.
It is well to use a spraying ma-
chine but a waterilng can will do.
All the mixture should be used up,
not left standing in a metal ves-
sel. ' i • •

COMPETITION FOR BOYS AND
GIRLS
Through the action of the Min-
ister 'oaf Agriculture, the Honorab-
le Martin Burrell, arrangements
have beenmade to have the Can-
adian Bankers' Association co-op-
erate with the Depertnent of Ag-
riculture in providing a liberal
sum of money to be offered in
prizes for cialves and pigs exhibit-
ed by boys or girls under seven-
teen years sof age, at 'county or
township fairs.
These competitions are known as
the ":Canadian .Bankers' competi-
tions,' and are linked up with the
activities of the live stock branch
of the Dominion Department of Ag
riculture They represent an eff-
ort to increase ilnterest in live
stock, and constitute a part of the
active campaign for more and bet-
ter stock inaugurated and carried
on by lthe 'Han. Mr. Burrell thro-
ugh his Department., 'The gen-
erous support accorded• to the
movement by the Canadian Bank-
er"; Association affords a practic-
al demonstration of the attitlte of
the banksti5towards the live stock'

Canadian National Exhibition, pre-

of the institution. Mr. Kent is head
