BOOST IN FREIGHT RATES
• An ipnportant order from the
Dominion Railway Commission will
be forthcomning- at an early date.
The' order, which is the result of
an applicatioln from, the railway
companies for an increase in rates,
in consideration of the trem,endo-
usly inerreased cost of coal, mat-
erials, labor, etc., will, it is decl-
ared, involve a rise in freight rat-
es of approximately 15 per cent
on all lines east and west, and on
almost all .commodities. The new
order, it is expected, will go into
effect during the first week of the
new year.
