and were most heartily welcomed by
the sitizens and by the school children.

An address of welcome was given by
Dr Schram and was responded to by
Major Beaman on behalf of the sold-
iers. The dinner was served in Mc -
Isaac's furniture store by the ladies of
the town and surroundiug district.
After dinner a short. program was.
given which consisted of addresses by
Rev Grensebacb, Rev Jefferson and
Major Iieaman, Miss oestrioher revd-
erect a solo and also several patriotic
quartettes were given by others, .head-
ings were given by Miss Ida Routledge
and Miss Wurtz, while the Crediton
Band furnished the music for the en-
tire day.
The stores and business places' were
closed from 11 .to 2 and everything
was done to entertain the boys in
Khaki, and the people will always re-
member them with a deep affection,,

given to the Red Cross Fund.
