There are two ways of spending a
dollar, you can spend it at home and
gain an easy conscience make 'another
friend and perhaps get the dollar back
tomorrow: or you can send it away,
feel that you have 'sinned. offended the
home merchant, and forever lose the
dollar and the blessed influence for

'Examinations will be held on April
18th, 14th and 17th, 1916. Papers
for Junior Second, Third and Fourth
classes and for Senior Second and
Third classes will be sent to the teach-
ers about April 5th. Teachers are re-
quested to send at once to their In-
spector, the number of papers required
for each class.
The concert given in the Town Hall
here last Friday evening by the Elgar
Ladies Quartette was very suceess£u1,,
although the attendance should have
been much larger for such a high class
performance. The ladies, cmmnosing
the quartette, were all singers of the
highest order, and those who attended
were given a rare treat. The proceeds
will go towards the fund for a new
organ to be installed in the Evan-
gelical church.
The extra day in February which
constitutes the entire "leap year,"
provides a calendar different from any
enjoyed since the centeninal year
1876, forty years ago; and different
from any that will follow for twenty
eight years longer, when 1944 will
have begun. 'This is a leap year be-
ginning on Saturday, containing fifty
three Saturdays and fifty three Sun-
days, such as no person under forty
years of age, ever knew before, and
such as possibly a very few will see
again repeated in the millennial year
2,000-eighty.four years hence.

was.able to be present after a lengthy
illness, Recruiting matters were dis-

themselves to assist in every way.
