HOCKEY
A fast game of hockey was played
on the Ilensall rink on Mouday eve
between the Zurich Midgets and the
Hensell janiors. After time was up
and the scorers counted the tallies it
was found that the Zurich lads had
scorecl six times, while the Hensel]
lads failed to make connection with

Chipraan farm just south of Magrath.
Hauling wood and tiles is the order Mr. Chipman's wheat averaged
of the day. The farmers are taking slightly better than sixty bushels per
the advantage of the good sleighing'. acre, while his field of barley made
the splendid average of 75 bushels.
Mr 'Ames Watson of Seaforth was Probably the most remarkable
business visitor in town on Saturday crop threshed is that of Emil
a,st, Ehlert's. Mr. Ehlert was hailed out
last July and was awarded 35 per
cent. hail insurance. With the long
spell of ideal growing weather fol-
lowing this disaster the grain took
on new li Iv and even ripened before
the frosts came. Mr. Ehlert has
just finished threshieg this crop and
.obtained a 45 -bushel average. Mr.
Ehlert thinks that his entire crop
would have gone better than 70 bush-
els per acre hail it not suffered so

The publisher, not recognizing his
visitor, remarked hi a kindly tone

then and that tie bad no vacancy Sir
Mackenzie thanized him, and walked
out. That evening, on learning that
a Cabinet Minister was in the city,
the newspaper proprietor looked up
the party at the hotel, and could
scarcely believe his eyes when he
discovered who the supposed "tramp
printer" was. The former Premier
regarded the occurrence as a good
joke, and frequently recalls the incie
dent as one .of the most amusing in
hie public career.
