The death was announced on Fri-
day last of Mrs Elizabeth Ann Jarrott
wife of Mr Wm Sherritt, senior, of
Socbarer, Man, The deceased lady
was .aged 54 years 6 months' and • 28
days. She suffered from kidney
disease, and had been sick about to
year, during seven months of which
she was confined to her bed. 1VIrs
Sherritt was born in Stanley, Ont.,
on July 12th, 1861, and was the
daughter of Mr and. Mrs John Jarrott,
of Exeter, Ont,, both of wholes are
living, as also are five sisters and three
brothers, She is survived by her
husband, six eons and two` daughter's.
Will is on a farm adjoining home,.
Albert in Vancouver, Jim farming
three miles from the home, Agnes
(Mrs Robt Hotham) of Rapid City,
Wallace in the trenches in France,
Lily (Mrs Ed Gibbs) of Wynyard,
Sask., and Earl and Norman at home:
Mrs Sherritt was married in 1875
and arrived in Winnipeg in 1878,
She was a member of the Presbyterian
Church in which she was an active
worker. Always ready with advice
and help for others, hospitable to a
degree, she was held to the highest
regard by friends and neighbors by
whom she will be much missed.
The funeral was held at the home
on Sunday. Feb 6th, conducted by
Rev Mr McNair, of McConnell, and
formerly of Angnsville, . assisted by
Mr Bailey. The extreme weather
and heavy drifts made it impossible
for some to attend, nevertheless a
large crowd of neighbors and friends
were present, some of whom mast
have had a rough trip of many miles
to show this last respect to their. de-
coaas<,ad friend.

Mr John Broderick, an old and high -
y esteemed resident of Hay Town -
hip, is very seriously ill, with no
hopes held out for his recovery.
George Kerslake, of Usborne died
udclenly on Feb 14th from a paralytic
troke. The funeral was held last
Thursday,

Thos Welsh was severely injured
the other day while felling trees in
Horton's bush. He was hit by a large
failing limb and the deep cuts inflicted
required oyer a dozen stitches.
Miss Helen Swan, nurse, isrecover-
ing from an attack of bronchitis.
Mrs J Caldwell recently slipped on
the floor and in the fall broke her
arm at the wrist.
Case Troyer, James Parks and Roy
Neelands are among the most recent
recruits to the 161st.
Miss Mary Buchanan, professional
nurse, is taking a much needed rest at
her home here.
The members of the 161st visited
Exeter and Crediton last Thursday.
