OUR CORNER
In looking over the list of losses
paid by the Hay Township Farmer's
Fire Insurance Oo in 1915, it will be
noticed that a large number of fires
were started by tildren playing with
matches. Parents slainkl be more
strict with their chinh NI in this re-
spect and should see that the young-
sters are not allowed to carry matches
and they should also see to it that
matches in the home are kept out of
reach of the children. By doing this
many fires and other fatal accidents
-.can be avoided.

Why Is It?
(Flom An Exchange.)
Why is it, it is often asked, that
people in small towns can find no
better business than -prying into other
affairs, and then exaggerate
bag the truth hi regara to the sanae.
People who pretend to be Christians,
who attend church regularly, who, in
the sight of their neighbors are gen-
limns and charitable, yet who, with-
out the slightest provocation, pi* up
some little mistake, or more often, at
nothing, will so scandalize one as to
ruin his or her reputation for life.
While they would not steal from them
worldly goods, yet they rob him of her
of what is more prescious than gold -
a good reputation. Why can't people
practice the chrietianity that they
preach and "do unto others as you
would have them do unto you?"
