The hall was crowded to the doors and the, programme rendered was much appreciated. The chief at- traction was'the half-hour play, "Waiting for the Trolley." The sket- ch portra3 ed the scene of a street car waiting room and a number of people waiting for the trolley. While some were waiting% young couple who were eloping joined the throng and three suffragettes also came in and being unable to convince the bride•to-be to join their worthy movement, assisted the elopers in evading the irate father who appeared on the scene, searching for his runaway daughter, The train announcer and the refreshment booth girl made things lively by their flirta- tions. The farmer, the old maid, and the other passengers, who were waiting added to the amusing situations, All those who took part in the playlet de- serve credit for the way it was given. The other numbers on the programme were all well received, especially the singing of the ladies, who deserve spec - al mention for the way in which they rendered a number of Patriotic selec- tions. The orchestra, consisting of Miss C Durand. and Messrs F Bossen- ber.ry and D Bennett, helped much to maks the evening's performance a success. The closing number, a tableau re- presentating a soldier who had fallen on the battlefield in defense of his conntry, being crowned with a wreath of honor by an angel, is also worthy of special mention. During the intermissions a number of little girls dressed as rod cross nur- ses sold home-made candy and a nice sum was realized out of this. Al- together nearly one hundred dollars was realized out of the concert. The proceeds, over the expenses, will be donated to the Red CXogi Flanl IilliilliIM111111IIIIIIIII1110111IIIIIIIIIlI11ll1I Just opened up a number of lines of heavy Winter Goods, Woollen lan- kets, Dress Goods,- Underwear, Sweater Coats, Cardigans,Mitts and Gloves,l-Iats . . and : Caps-, j „ Woollen -Socks and Hose, lugs, and nu merous other lines, s• Produce of all binds take, R.
