PALL FAIL3,'.
The annual exhirbition of the Hay Branch Agricultural Society held
on Wednesday:. and Thureday of last week was a splendid success and the re-
ceipts were lnnell larger than last year. tTbe weather man let up oaa'his rain
apparatus for the two clays and a large attendance was the result. The.
exhibits in the indoor department were numerous and varied, especially the
ladies' work, both useful and ornamental, Fruit, however, was very scarce,
very few apples, pears, etc., being entered. The grain, vegetable and root
classes were well filled. The house plants and flowers also attracted a great
Ileal of attention. The exhibit of stoves, furnaces, etc., by J. Preeter was one
of the leading features in the main building, as was also the harness display of
R. F. Stade.
The judging of the different classes in the horse ring was a big attrac-
tion and some excellent stock was shown. Some fine herds of cattle were
also on exhibition.
The races always attract a large crowd and a deep interest was taken
in the two events on the programme. The heats were keenly contested and
the finishes close. Following is a summary of the races;
