A sad fatal accident happened near
Dashwood last Friday which resulted
in the death of a wellknotvn resident of
the section, in the person Of Frederick
Preeter. He was assisting at the farm
of Mr Henry Kraft in hauling in, and
while working up in the mow, in`some
way fell to the barn floor, 'a distance
of about 18 feet. He struck the hard
floor with the side of his head, crush-
ing in his skull, causing instant death.
The awful suddeness of his death has
oast the whole community into deepest
gloom, He had reached the age of
68 years and 11 months. The late
bMr Preeter had made many warm
Mends daring his lifetime by his cheer-
fel disposition who all regret his sed;
den demise.
At the age of 2 years he emi'g
with his parents from Germany
they settled near Dashwood, whe
spent all of his lifetime. A few
age he disposed of his farm to his
and retired to Dashwood, hopi
enjoy for many years the fruit
his Iabor. In 1884 be was united in
marriage with Flora Stelk, who sur-
vives him. Ous son, Frederick
Preeter, jr, of Stephen township, and
two daughters, Mrs E .Kraft, of Dash-
wood, and Mrs 5 Adams„of Lindsay,
also survive him, beside f

John, of Zurich, and Louis, of Strat-
ford, and three sisters, Mrs H Willett,
and Steacy, of Dashwood, and
Miss F Praetor of Zurich. The funeral
was hold on Sunday afternoon, and
was one of the largest ever seen in
this section. Rev G P Graupner,
Pastor of the Lutheran church officiat-
ed, interment taking place in the
Lutheran cemetery, Bronson Line,
