A quiet wedding was solemnized in
St Boniface R C church, Zurich, on
Tuesday Jan. 261h, when Miss Jose„
phine, daughter of Mr and Mrs Alonzo
Foster, Babylon Line, Hay Tuwuship,
Was united in marriage with ?Jr Leo
Strupp of Berlin, Rev A Stratler of-
ficiating. Mrs S Dietrich played the
Wedding march. Mr and Mrs Strupp
will settle down on a farm near Berlin
FARMER'S INSTITUTE
The Farmer's Institute meeting
held in the Town Hall here on Friday
afternoon last was fairly well attended.
The speakers addressed the meeting on
timely subjects and many newniethods
and thoughts were brought forth. Mr.
Smith talked on feeding cattle for beef
and Mr. Shaw on farms and farm life
in general, After the meeting all
partook of a ftne lnneh provided by'
the ladies in the Lodge roricn. Mr.
Clarke was unable to be present.

W01IENS' INSTITUTE
On January 13th the first annivers-
ary of the Women's Institute of zurieh
was held in the Town IIall. All officers
were present. A large number of
members incleding fifteen new ones
were in attendance. I'AisineeSi was
ti•ansactod in the usual Way. Reports
were given by the two delegates Presi-
dent Mrs M Fritz and District Director
1liss A Hess, of the annual conventi-
on held al London in November,
There were a number of good sug-.
g .scions inacle, also reports given of the
good work the Women's Institute was
doing throughout Ontario. A paper
was given on • Serving, by Miss P.
Wurtz, solo by Mildred Hoffman and
reading by Jean Campbell.
The District Secretary, Mrs A Hast-
ings of Exeter, also organizer of the
Women's Institute, gave the Institute
great credit for obtaining such a large
menbershipin one year,fifty-five being
on the roll. A. light lunch was served
in honor of the now members, this
closing the social part of the evening.
On Jan. 22nd a publis meeting of
the Women's Institute of Zurich and
of Blake assembled in the Society Hall
to listen to a lecture on Moine Influence
and a Demonstration on Needlework,
which was to have been given by Mrs,
Woelard of. Toronto. Owing to some
mishap she missed the train at London
and could not be with us for the after-
noon which resulted in a sad disap-
pointment. At the same time the
Farmers Institute were holding their
meeting in the Town Hall and were
kind enough to send a few of their
speakers to lecture to the women on
various subjects. At the close of the
lecture the women extended a hearty
invitation to the husbands and speak-
ers to partake of the Lunch prepared,
After doing justice to the good things
which seemed to be enjoyed by all, a
hearty vote of thanks was tendered the
members of tae 'Women's Institute of
Zurich for their kind hospitality.
