LATE JACOB HAPERER.
With deep regret are thepeo-
ple learning of the passing of Mr.
Jacob Haberer who departed this
life on Thursday August 10th at
the age of 65 years, 10 months and
10 days, after only a few week';s'
illness with cancer on the stom-
ach, of which he suffered severely
before' his departure.. He was
born in Wittenberg, Germany and
immigrated to Pittsburg at the
,age of 17 years, two years later
came to Hay Township, where he
took up a farm on the Blind Line
now occupied by his son. Fred
About eight years ago he moved
to Zurich and built up a very.
fine home at the south end of . the•
village, where he also expanded'
his business' of beekeeping ,which
he had followed for many years,
and made a great success thereof
He was an outstandingenthusiast'
of the Ontario Beekeepers Assoc
ration, and through his achievem
ents has made many close frienClt
outside of his immediate vicinity,
Deceased was one of the moat
popular and well -liked residents: of
the township and always took 'an
active part in the welfare of the.
community, being a Township and
itor for the last number of years,
and always made a success of
what he took in hand. Words
cannot express how he will be
missed b yhis numerous friends.
His' late wife Susanah Deichmkpre
deceased him about ten year sago,
also one daughter. The surviving'

LATE. MENNO KIPFER
In the passing of Menno Kiper
of the Parr lane, Hay, on August
7th, at the age of 72 years, 9
months and 19 days, another one'
well known in these parts has pas
sed : to the Great Beyond. Being
sick only a few hours with heart-
failure, having been in Zurich a
few hours previous to his death.
He had been a sufferer of rhe -u
matism for a number of yearn
during 'which time he made him-
self known to many by doing some
curious Woodwork, as well as rusk-,
ing chairs and other useful atric-
les, He leaves to mourn his loss,
his sorrowing widow, seven sons;
Jacob of Zurich, Solomon at hoine;
John of Mich ; Noah, Siemon and
David in Iwia; Chris.in Il'linoise
and Ezra Kipfer of Marquis, Sask.
Four daughters, Mrs. Jacob Moyer
of Kitchener,' Mrs. Disjardine of
Grand :fiend, Mrs. Thos. Kyle and
Mrs. Jacob Gingerich of Hay Tp
He was born in Wilmott township
and carne to these parts many ye-
ars ago, being a resident of the
place of his death for 34 years. The
funeral which was held on Satur-
day, afternoon, to the Mennonite
cemetery, Goshen Line, south of
Zurich, was largely attended wh'ch
showed the high esteem the 'dep-
arted was held in.
