Richard Blatchford and Mr; J.
C. Clausen who are now visiting
here from the West are two of
Hensall's pioneer •business men.
Tltev were in business here some
45 years ago. At that time there
was one. store, a blacksmith shon
conducted by Mr. Blatchford and
a harness shop by Mr. :.Clausen,
with only two or three houses all
built on one street.
The municipal pot is already
beginning to boil. , Many of Our
citizens are discussing some of the
improvements that should be com-
menced next year. One of our
leading business men put it this
way ;—If we expect Hensall 'to
crow we must pay more taxes.
tzTt is impossible to get some.. -i
thing for nothing.» Among the
questions that will come beforethe
1922 Council will be.`the building
of a new school and the installing
of a waterworks system. The
water works system will pay its
own way in a few years. In con
vection with the building . of k a
new school we have no choice.
