CANADA'S NEW COAT OF ARMS Every 'home in Canada, every Canadian school- boy and girl should know the new Canadian Coat of Arms. 0 It is a most be-, autiful plate and should occupy a prominent place in all true Cane. adian homes. The people of Can ade are indebted to the Family Herald and Weekly Star of Mon- treal for reproducing the new Cott of Arius in all its true her-,. aldic colors and presenting a copy 14X17 inches, to all reader's of that great paper. The Family Herald and Weekly Star is Cana- da's greatest family and farm paper and is known throughout the whole Dominion, It is wond- derful veins and provides every every member of the family with clean, wholesa'.some, instructive reading. It is a great money saver for the farmers of Canada and repays the subscription price one hundred fold each year. Can- ada is proud of the big weekI7,gi Can•a?da is proud of the big . wee. ekly. It has nor surnerior the world over eand is improving year after year. It coats only two dollars a year and each'reader for 1922 will receive free 'a copy of the "Coat of :Artni." Hundreds of acres of good fruit and celery lancl will be opened up around Grand Bend by the completion of a County Road 4. from Grand Bend to a point near Port Frank, work . an which will ,I: be commenced iminediat'ay, as + cording to J E, Wiisie; who knows 4.. • the 'district well. This will also + be the last ,link in a chain of good t ?oads for tourists traffic betwe- + en Owen Souid and Sarnia. At 4d ,I, present there is a winding trail 4, convecting Grand Bend and fort • Frank. The plan is to straigh+• • ten the road ' on and gravel it M** will make :x good county highway, • If the weather is et all favorable, • the work will be nom.pieted liy + newt spring, There are hundreds t; ' +ir ' g of the best celery land 'gat aeon .44.10r4rtd :nrre Millinery Entire S'toc'ti of Trimmed and Un- trimmed Hats to be sold now for Half Price. Store will close for regular bus- iness, Dem 3rd' but will. be open the two following Saturdays. Kindly Settle Accounts. M. E. Routledge, Zurich adjacent to the route of this proposed highway. Much of the land .is on the site of what was formerly Lake Burwell, which was drained several years ago. The whole area, which was Covered by the lake, is considered to be the finest of muck suited to celery growing. It is also said that this section will develop into a great fruit growing county. Ap- pies, pears, peaches and other similar fruits can be grown on the higher land adjacent to Grand Bend. The range of hills will protect the fruit orchards fromthe north. Within a few years the slopes facing the south will be covered with peaches and other fruit trees. In connection with the prospects for celery growing it is pointed that there were 65 cars of celery shipped from the vicinity of Port Frank in 10 days this fall. The total shipment of celery from that district this fall Was 120 cars. W. C. T. U. NOTES HOW TO CAT QUR VOTES As us'rd when the country is in the throes of a political came paign the W. C. T, U. remains st- rictly non-partisan as an organiz- ation but seeks to throw the wei- ght of its influence to where the cause of temperance and other reforms this union is striving for, will receive the most consideration In this election, bone-dry pro- hibitionis not a definite plank of any party but each 'seemingly fav- ours it. One great menace yet remains and that is the manufact- ure of intoxicating liquors. While it is made somebody will drink it. There is no restriction on its ex- portation. What is the use of sending rn,issioneries to foreign fi- elds When we permit our country to send this poison to heathen lands where it snakes brutes of men and women so that they are no longer capable of any spirit- ual? Since we cannot support any one party as none has a definite policy re ,the manufacture of lie{- 'ixors, we, individually must vote for the strongest temperance candid- ate in each riding, regardless of party to insure the fulfilment of out. best interests. Sir John A. Mec`ermald was in the habit of saying to temperance delegations, waiting upen him, that if, the e,l- ectorete sent down a majority of prohiibitionsts, Dominion prohih- it;ion wouldsoon be enacted.. 'taut this never" happened and Canada is still in the toils :f the liquor ti nific, Legit us Trot forget that :TVA list . ti De , .sober, ht AIL 4 1 Thursday, December lst, 1921. _ The store with tame Liberal Cash Discount over.
