AN INTERESTING HOCKEY
MATCH
Last Thursday evening the 14th
Con. Cyclones blew into town to
try conclusions with ever meek
Zurich Benedicts. Noting the bre-
eey appearance of the western
wind -jammers, the tack -headed
manager of the locals put a liberal
supply of subs, behind the fence,
ready to jump into any gaps that
might be blown into the ranks of
theZur:ch puck -trailers. By sup-
erior headwork and frequent chae-
g:ng of storm-to,sed players, the.
Benedicts made the Cyclones' net
sag four times before Gordy in
goal could keep his eyes off th
girls. The gale from the west
soon blew itself out but the local
ranks were so tattered that oc-
casional gusts pierced them and
two :of many wild whirlwind shots
stayed in goal, one of them tak-,
ing Tolly right off his solid foun-
^dation. When the game was ov-
er and a calm once, more reigned
the ,Benedicts had won by 4-2.
Discouraged, because of being
"unable to make satisfactory arras-.
'gements,with the rink people for
the nee of the, ice, the O. H, A. In
termentetes have thrown up the
sponge. A good organization had
been formed, plenty of players we
re available and certificates had
been applied tor, but at th least
moment it was decided to drop
out. The game scheduled to be
played at Goderich last Week was
called Off, St Marys team was
ermined 'with Goder:Gln and Meter
