A horse belonging to Mr. S. , Smith fell into a well on the farm of Mr, E. Penhale, in Hay, and died before it could be taken out. The horse went through the platform hind end first. . The well was shallow being only ten feet deep. By kicking with its feet and tos- sing, its head the horse ,loosened the earth around the top of the well which fell down on the animal which died before it could be re- moved. t NC s COUNTY NEWS John Bradley of Mitchell,, aged forty -•five years, died from heart failure following a football match between Mitchell and Seaforth in the latter town last week.
