Oxford County is one of wealth
and prosperity., if the number of
motors owned in the county is a
criterion. E. A. Rae, issuer for
the county says that 3,200 licenses
have been issued this year thus
far, and- since the population of
the county is a little over 45,000,
this means that there in an aver-
age of one car for every 14 peo-
ple. Two-thirds of these cars
have been bought since 1915 and
most of them are owned by farin-
mer.s. The estimate amount of
money invested in the country in
autos is about $4,000,000.

Baseball News
Let us meet you at the Zurich
Diamond this evening, Thursday,
because that fast Goderich team
will, play our boys the last League
game at 5.45 o'clock p. m.
A large number of baseball fans
motored to Clinton to see the C1-
inton-Creditan game, which was
;von by the Iatter, score 5-3.
The best game of the season was
played on the local diamond here
last Thursday evening when Clint
on and Zurich played their Lea-
gue game, The game through-
out was fast and snappy, and to
the end of the sixth inning the
score stood 1-2 in Clinton's favor
but in the 7th inning our boys con-
nected with Cooper's curves and
had a real merry-go-round and
scored 4 runs making the score
5-2 in favor of Zurich. As there
$was no more scoring done in the
following three innings, the score
enzained thus.
