E. A. Rae, issuer for the county says that 3,200 licenses have been issued this year thus far, and- since the population of the county is a little over 45,000, this means that there in an aver- age of one car for every 14 peo- ple. Two-thirds of these cars have been bought since 1915 and most of them are owned by farin- mer.s. The estimate amount of money invested in the country in autos is about $4,000,000. A. warning has been issued in connection with the new luxury and . excise taxes by the Depart- ment of the Inland Revenue and Customs, that all returns and re- mittances covering same must be made to the collector of Inland Revenue at London, not later than the first of next month. The best game of the season was played on the local diamond here last Thursday evening when Clint on and Zurich played their Lea- gue game, The game through- out was fast and snappy, and to the end of the sixth inning the score stood 1-2 in Clinton's favor but in the 7th inning our boys con- nected with Cooper's curves and had a real merry-go-round and scored 4 runs making the score 5-2 in favor of Zurich.
