Meyer, pastor of the lccai Evangelical church has ret- urned from the yearly conference and will begin his fifth year of work, Is the half -holiday for the sum - .mer months for Zurich a thing of the past? In some rural commun- ities it is observed, why not in our villager Ninety per cent. of the liquor sold in Ontario is obtained od doc- tor's prescriptions, 80 to 30 per cent of which, in the opinion of J. D. Flavell, Chairman of the License Board, are unnecessary. The Seven Dispensations Of Time (By J. S. Delgaty) (Continued from last week.) 4. Man under Promise. Out of the dispersed. descendants of the builders of Babel, God now calls one man -Abraham, with whom He, into cotenant. It will he safe to notice that some of the promises to Abraham and his posterity, were', purely gracious and uncondit:oual' --Also that these have been or will be literally fulfiued. Other promises were conditional upon the faithfulness and obedience of the Isrealites. Everyone of these conditions was violated, and the Dispensation of Promise ended in judgment. The Bondage of Isreal in Egypt. See Geo. 12; 1, 3. 15; 4. P26; 3. 28; 12, 13. 13; 11-17. Exod, 1; 13, 14. 5. Man under Law. Again the grace of God come to the help of helpless man and redeemed the chosen people out of the hand of the oppressor. In the wilderness of sin, God proposed to them the covenant of Law. Instead of p1- eading for a continuation of Grace, which man felt in his redemption f front bo„dage. they presump,iona•- ly answered; "All that the Lord hath spoken we will do." This history of man is so well known I need not enlarge. Here you see the one large record of per- sistent violation of the Law • un- til the age ends in a two-fold'jud- gment•,. The Dispersion of lsreal and Judah.; And the conspiracy of Jew and Gentile to crucify the Christ. See,. Exod, 19; 1-8. Rom. 10; 5, Rom. 3, 19,20. , 2Kings, 17; 1-16. Acts 12; 22, 23. Acts 7; 51, 621. 6. Man under Grace. The Sac- rifieeial, death of the Lord Jesus Christ introduced the dispensation of pure grace, which means undes- erved favor, a God-given righteo- usness, instead of God requiring rightenousness as under Law. Sal- vation, perfect and eternal is noav offered freely to both Jew and Gentile upon the acknowledgem. ent of sin, or repentance, with faith in Christ. This is the pres- ent age or Dispensation, the one in which we, beloved reader, live. God offers this salvation free to all who will accept; to all who. will believe on Him whom he hath sent. It is the age in which the find church was established; And the members of which Will •enjoy God's special, Heavenly favor of eternal life through faith in . the Death of Christ, The Elood shed on Cr.1very alone. the basis of thio Mail Contract • SEALED TENDERS, addressed to the Postmaster General, will be received at Ottawa until noon,- on Friday, the 4th day of June, 1920. for the conveyance of His Majest- ty's Mails; on a proposed Contr- act for Four Years, Six tinges per week., Over Zurich No. 3, Rural Route, irons the Postmaster Gener- al's Pleasure. Printed notices containing further information as to conditions of proposed Contr- act may be seen and blank forms of Tender may be obtained at the Post Offices of Zurich, Hensel], Dashwood and Kippen, and at the Post Office Inspector, London. • CHAS. E. 11. FISHER, Post Office Inspector's Office. London, 23rd, April, 1920 life -His word the assurance of our possession. The predicted result of this testing of man under grace is judgment upon an unbelievable world and apostate church, Luke, 18; 8. Rev. 3; 15, 16. Luke 17;, 26, 30. The first event in closing of this Grace age will be Cthe decent of the Lord from heavento res- urrect the saints -who, with living deliver • will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air (1 Thes. 4;16,17) Then follows a brief period, called the great tribulation Matt. 24; 21, 9$.• Dan 12; 1. Jer. 30; 5-7. Af- ter this occurs the personal return of the Lord to the earth in power and great glory, and the judgm- ents which introduce the 7th and last dispensation. See Matt. 24; 23, 30. Matt 25. 31-46. 7. Man under the personal Re;gn of Christ. After the purifying judgments which attend the per- sonal return of Christ to the earth He wee reign over restored Isre- ael and over the earth for one thousand years. This is the per- iod commonly called the nrilleani- um. The seat of His power will be Jerusalem, and the saints, inclu- ding the saved of the Graceful viz the Church will be associated with Him in His Glory. See Acts 15; 14-17. Ise. 2; 1-4. Rev. 19; 11-.21. Rev. 20, 1-6. After the thousand years Satan isl used for a season, finds the natural heart as prone to evil as ever, and easily gathers the nature to battle against the Lord and His Saints. Here, this 7th or last dispensation ends in judgm- ent. -The great white Throne jud- jnient. Rev. 20; 3. 7;15. Then comes the new Heaven and the new Earth -Eternity is begun.. Rev. Chapters .21 and 22. • W. C. T. U. NOTES THE UNSCRUPULOUS LIQUOR TRAFFIC "When the liquor men in America began boxing tor a man to contest constitutional prohibition in the co- urts 'they decided to look for nome one of eociai prominence. They laid down on a table in front , of Mr, Charles Evans Rughs, the Re- publican candidate for the Presid- ency in 1916, a cheque for $150,000 That great jurist replied; "I would not champion this cause for any sum of money you can name„" ex -President they turned to c.x_ President Taft and gave him a signed "cheque telling him to fill it in for any am- ount he wanted. The reply of Mr Taft was memorable, as the Amer- ican paper that tells the story well says;... "Gentlemen, you couldn't pile enough gold on this continent to indube me to take your ;:ase, bcfare the courts and before the public, for I will have you know "My conscience is not for sale.''
