In those districts where the oat
crop was a partial or total fail-
ure, last season, farmers are be-
coming somewhat anxiousoats
the available supply seed
There is a general tendancy on
the part of farmers who have seed
oats for sale to withhold themun-
til later in the winter. The mov-
ement of seed oats is delayed also,
because transportation has been.
needed for coal, feed and live-
stock.
Possibly 400,000 bushels of seed
oats may be required in Ontario
and Quebec, and a much larger
quantity in South Alberta and

ganizing a Lad:e.s' hockey toamfor
this season. This would indeed
be interesting in our village, as
we have a very fair •representat-
ion of young ladies that take an
active part in all amusement and
sports, and there is no reason why
they could not give the public an
exhibition. of real hockey. Let's
hear from you Girls.

It is reported that ten thousand
public school teachers in Ontario
are soon to be organized into- a
teacher's union, Teachers' un-
ions are in existence in the United
States and there seems to be work
fox them to do in securing impro-
ved conditions of life. and living.
It is a pity that in countries am-
ong peoples professing to think
so highly of education it should be
necessary for teachers to resort
to organized action in artier to
get a decent return for their ser-
vice.—Woodstock Sent -Review.
