that at a. recent sale of Pure Bred
Holstein Cattle held in that City
last week, Mr. X. J. Merner of

The regular meeting of the W.
C. T. U., was held- at the home of
Mrs. A. Meliak on Wednesday evening Sept. 17th. Mrs, Lydia
Geiger led the devotional par .
The President, Mrs. Heyrock,
then took charge of the educed°
nal part. This half hour was de-
voted to explanations and discus-
sions on the referendum ballot.
As the ladies feel this a great pri
ilege to cast their first vote on
the temperance question, it was
strongly urged that all voters be
sure to mark their ballots cor-
rectly. In order to ensure proh-
ibition to continue as we now have
it we must place an X under the
NO in 'each of the four spaces.
The business was then transac-
ted, and the meeting closed with
slinging the temperance doxology.
LIBERAL CANDIDATE
•Mr. John Morgan, farmer,
Ushorne township, was selected., as
the. Liberal standard bearer tor
South. Huron for the coming Pro-
vincial election at the .2onvention
held at Hensall last Saturday.
Major Tolmie, M. P. P., of Windsor
was the principal speaker. Mr.
McGregor of Halton county ale°
gave an interesting address.
resolution of confidence in the lead
ership of Holn. W. L. M. King and
of Holm H. Dewart was adopted.
