leaFEAT OF THE LIGHT
BRIGADE/.
'The peacefulness of our otheia
wiee quiet village was very much
disturbed a few ,nights ago. Peo-
ple living near the scene of distur-
bance for a while imagined that
perhaps a stray %Zeppelin had
wandered over this spot aad drop-
ped a high explosive bomb. Oth-
ers thought that perhaps the 13o1-
sheviks had decided to make a
raid at this particular spot. li
has since been said that the noise
was all caused by the members oi
a local organization raiding or
swooping down upon the busine3s
place of one of our popular merch-
ants and causing high-class sho::s
and low -class wood to mix up
generally. The proprietor, it is
reported, however, was there with
both feet and the scurrying and
scampering when he attacked put
theroute of the Germans at Chat-
eau Tillery. to shame. The jcas-
ualties of the "Brave Six Hundr-
ed:" numbered two, but more would
have fallen had they not crawled
for the tall timbers and got
of reach so quickly. Charlie, or
better known as "Sir Charles" now
.carries a persuader in his right
coat pocket and other articles us-
ed in self defence at short notice
charges.
