The recent thaw; and rainy wea-
ther the past few days has again
,put the Zurich ,7-Iensall Road
in an almost impassable position.
Mr• Oswald, the road commission-
er, wishes to plead with the peo-
ple not to load their wagon'sand
trucks to full capacity as the
roads ar •not in a condition to
withstand the heavy traaffic. We
wish to again draw our reader's at--
teuttbn to the fact that some kind
of a hard 'surface road is badly
needed from Hensel' to Zurich, and
we think it •seemst ;bo bad that
that this cannot be •Ipvzt through. \c
As We understand itr
e'ss a i 5 to have a 1; , s
by a certain percentage of the 1 \t
rat eptiyers and then presented I p
to Cha'' Hay Municipal ,Council,who i g
could then act *pop the matter.
While the expenditure would of
course involve a large sum of
money, but .if the debentures or
payments, were :spread over a
period of 'say twenty-five or thirty
years, it would not the so much at
once, and while the (good road
would ba a;sed it could be paid for.
Let 'someone, or !some organizat-
ion get busy and Istert right NOW
and have this. done next !summer
'se that the people of ,+ate. com-
munity will escape another aut-
umn of punk roads .1 to Hensall: 1
