GOLDEN WED>ANG
Continued from page one)
A three course dinner was ser -
veld at one. .O'clock, and p,eed1eas
to say that every one did jjustice
to the deliciee which were prepar
ed by the group with ;the assist---
ance of Mrs. Johrt Fuss, who work -
.ed so •diligently and efficiently
throughout the day.
Later in the afternoon an ap-
propiace program was rendered
with. M' .Oscar Klopp, the ,h.oste
as chairman. In his opening ad-
dress the mentioned the fact „that
Mr. and. Mrs. Kapp are still en-
joying a good measure of health,
and that under their care ,and. gu-
ardianship their ten children have
grown into abl-ebodied, - healthy
persons. Their twenty-seven gr-
audehildren of whom twelve are
girls and fifteen are bays, range
from fourteen months to twenty,=.
one years of age, These grand-
.ihiidren, as wellltare all robust and
healthy. Their happiness was
manifested by the way • they took
part in the program The grown-
ups greatly enjoyed the snappy re-
citations and cheery 'songs bythe
tot's. Edith, Beatrice and :Howard
Klopp sang several songs, some
being accompanied by Beatrice on
the ukelele, and others by i Mrs.
Klapp, the hostess on the pi'ana.
After the program cars were
provided to take the entire group
to Grand Bend, where the bridal
party of Iitfy years ago had spent
part of their honeymoon., It ways
quite amusing to hear grand-
mother and Grandfather tell ue
t ofu: tludg about the condition of
Grand lend at that early time.
However, 'since ,their previous trip
had been made by horse and bug-.
gy, it made a longer and sweeter
journey, and we all agree that it
novel way of spending a honey-
moon at that time at least. Hoa
ever, this ,,trip did not ocmpletely
satisfy their 'anticipations of a
weh3spent honeymoon, ,sof they
went to Hamilton by rail,,;
After returning from Grand •
Bend the tables were again load-
ed with all sorts of "goodies" in-
cluding two fine wedding cakes.
One cake was a neatly decorated
three storey cake made by Miss
Beatrice Klopp; the other one was
brought by little Rothe Klopp and
had a minature bride and groom
mounted on top.
After expressing our a mrw*,•
iation and gratefulnec :..,d
Mrs, Oscar Klopp for cneir kind
hospitlaity in offering their home
for this occasion, most of the fam-
ilies started on their homeward
journeys. All were convinced that
the day had been profitably spent
and hoped that we could meet in
like manner on the coining anniv-
eraary date.
One of the greatest isurprise.s
of the entire day carne to Mr.and
Mrs Klopp when they returned to
their hone in the evening. They
found their dining rook table well
loaded 'with appropriate giftsfrom
the children and g randel.iiidren..
Hence they Iapent a very plea',
ant evening in opening parcels
and reading the cheery messages
from one and all,
