orderly cbnduct,. One was fined
525 and costs while, t1LIe•.other paid.

two young men met in Clinton dur-
ing th3 Old :Boy's reunion and some
trouble arose between them and
instead of set ling their argument
there :and, then, decideil to meat in
Kippen and' settle the difference
by a fistic encount'exi.. Great
preparation was made by the two
pugilists and a large, crowd as-
sembled n.t Kip pen on Saturday
evening last to w.itnes1s the fight,.
After considerable bantering the
gladiators started 'at it and betw-
een fighting and debating put in
an hour of great entertainment £ r
the witnesses.. The battle ended
in a draw. Magistrate Reid, in
passing 'sentence, said,- that if thea
two young men had juast happen-
ed to get into a row he would not •
have thought so much of it but
when the whole plan was mapped
out beforehand, and staged in the
manner mentioned, it was too -
gross a piece of disorderly cond-
uct for •tlle law not to take notice:
