Popular Pastor Resigns
Rev. H. Rembe, Lit. Bt 5., be-,
loved and popular pastor of St.
Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich
has tendered his resignation. Dur-
ing his pastorate here, nearly nine
years, he has made many , warns
friends • not only among 'the mem-
bers of his..congregation but also.
in, the village and surrounding dis-
trict. The congregation huts flo-
urished and 'prospered under his
leadership and made splendid pro-
gress. During hisstay here he
has delivered' over a thousand 'ser-
mons and addresses, baptizing 125,
confirmed 106, united in wedlock 39
couples, hurried 60 and adminis-t
ered Holy ;communion over 100
tines privately and publicly to
2000 communicants.
Numerically and financially the
'congregation is stronger than ever.
The financial part within the last
nine years increased almost 100
per cent. The various organizat-
ions of, the church have been bro-
ught to a good standard of •ef-
'ficioncy'. The present healthy
condition of the congregation is
mainly, due to the pastor's faithful
work and untiring interest in the
Church and its various societies.
Rev. Rembe will leave the congre-
gation in a prosperous state. His
succes'aor will reap the fruits of
hid, sowing and labor. "One sowetk
the other rea,peth."
A: host of _friends will be sorry
to, hear of the pastor's resignation.
13y the time the Herald reaches its
readers the official notice of the
designation will likely rent in: the
hands of the Church .C,tnanettr
