No Depression Here!
At a 'meeting of the executive;
the Progressive Political Party` of
South Huron held in Hensail it was
decided to told .a nomivating Conven-
tion at Hensel' Town Hall, on Wed-
nesday evening, July 20th, to select
a Candidate to conieet the Bye-ei-
ection to be held in the near future.
Delegates will be appointed in each
municipality. Mr. 1t. J. Scott, of
Belgrave, President of the U.F.O.,
will be the speaker for,the occasion.
A cordial invitaion is extended o all
independent electors.
A number of citizens are advising
us of some irregularities with the con-
duct of a few young fellows who
were out sowing "wild oats'" as the
aying goes. This usually is a very
expensive undertaking, and should be
avoided, as it is very unpopuiar in
this age of culture and refinement.
If you sow wild oat:, you are sure to
reap wild oats. So young fellows just
take an inventory of your conduct
and hold in a little. If the cold
'hand of the law will seize you, why
it will be only too bad.
Farmers' Day
On Saturday morning, July 16,
every road leading to Ottawa from
Ontario and Quebec will provide its
quota of motor cars corning from the
rural townships to swell the ranks
of the brines' delegation. The farm-
ers have some recommendations to
make to the Government concerning,
the Empire Conference and they are
going to capital to speak for then
selves. Every train will also bring ad-
ditional numbers. When the farmers
special arrives from. ' Ontario around
7.30 or 8 a.m.-daylight time, It is
expected a special train will be run
down from the Western Provinces.,
A number from .the village, took
the opportunity offered the public by
having a "Visitors' Week" at the
Huron Springs Sanatorium, a mile
south. of :aensall. This institution
,which. has just been formally opened
last week, is owned and operated by
Dr- Moir, andis indeed a fine credit
to the proprietor. The location j$
idal, nice and quiet, with an abund-
ance of fresh air; and everything
imaginable has been done to make it
a "home -like" appearing place There
is room and equipment for the ac-,
comodation for a goodly numuer' of
patients, where they will receive the
very best of nursing attention, with
all modern conveniieneos. The .spec-
ial visitors' week was a big success
as there were in the neighborhood of.
a thousand people from far and near
cameo: to see this' most beautiful spot
which is at the access to the public
who are ill and require a nice; quiet
