Five Crediton youths were arraig-
nedbefore Mag. Reid on Wednesday
last charged of stealing gasoline from
one of the county graders on the St.
Marys road near Winchelsea. They
were caught in the act by Traffie
Officer Lever, who had been instruct-
ed to be on the watch for offenders
of this kind. The arrest was made as
the youths were leaving after secur-
ing a quantity of the gas. When the
Officer, who had been watching the
boys for some time, appeared, the
culprits tried to escape in their car,
but they were unsuccessful They
were released on $100 bail each and
to appear one week later for trial..

Farah and Home Week
Low prices for farm produce had.
little effect en the attendance at
Farm and Home week at O.A.C. last
week. The change from regional ga-
therings in previous years worked out
well and the short courses in animal
and field husbandry, home economics
and hortisulture, were eminently suc-
cessful and ably carried out. As a re-
sult many farmers and their wives
secured essential information about
various phases of farm -life and work
which they could .have derived in no
other manner.,
Ontario Strawberries for Winnipeg
The first shipment of Ontario
strawberries to the West for a num-
ber of years was made by the Vine-
land Growers' Co-operative Ltd. last
'week. The shipment consisted of
a suitable package. for presentation
to the consumer, pack carefully, and
in an attractive manner.
Market for Ontario Berries
Late reports to the Ontario Mar-
keting Board would indicate a posible
market in Montreal for Ontario straw
berries. In sections adjacent to Mon-
treal, the crop has suffered consider-
able damage from winter killing. The
report from further east states that,
while the plants have wintered well,
besides being damaged from recent
unfavorable weather, this crop will
be late in appearing on the market;
Roosts for Young Birds
Teaching chicks to roost at an
Jack Reakes, manager of the Co -Op-
erative stated this was a trial ship-
ment and preparations were under
way for to forward several more cars
during the present season. These ber-
ries will be handled through H. E.
Tones, Winnipeg, representative of
the Ontario Growers' Markets Coun-
cil, A careful check-up of the first
shipments will be ' made to insure a-
gainst discrepancies . in package ofy
the cars to follow.

the chicks to roost just as soon as this chang'''e is that many consumers
they no longer need heat to keep them in cities and towns are becoming in-
comportable. One of the best ways terested'"in the manner in whichpot-
