The June sittings of the County
Court opened on Tuesday last at
Goderich before Judge T. M. Cos-
tello. The first case was that of
Coutts v Bondi, hi which Mrs. Hazel
Coutts and her husband, of McKillop
sued C. Bondi of Wingham for $500
damages for injuries received by
Mrs. Coutts in an auto accident De-
fendant did not appear to contest the
action, and after evidence had been
taken the jury returned a verdict a-
gainst Bondi of $200 and costs. Two
other cases were acquitter, the first
that of Andrew A. Moore of l gmond
ville, Who while driving a truck, ac-
cidently at night ran into and killed
two ladies of that place on February
last, the ladies were Mrs. Charles-
worth and Mrs. Gooch. Percy Elsie
of Grand Bend, was also acquitted
of injuring young Triebn:er near Ex-
eter, in April. The latter accident
also took place at night near the Ex-
eter cemetery. The public when out
walking at night should either carry
a light or face the. traffic to be safe.
Most motorists took for lights to in-
dicate danger, and not dark objects
in front of the roads.
