The annual Childrens Day was ob-
served in the Evangelical :church.
iDashwood on Sunday with a special
' program in the evening:12y thechil-
dren. Rev, A. W. Sauer anted as
chairman for the prograni'which in -
eluded recitations: by a number of
children, songs by the Junior choir,
, and nolo by Lorne Kleinstsver ama
Jack Weber. Worthy of special men
tion was the two-part chorus with
Doris Willert and Ray Guenther sing-
ing the obligate. Miss Alice Hoffman
' had charge of the training of the chil
then and accompanied them. Several
numbers were also given by the San -
day school orchestra consisting of
Messrs. H. Holtman, T.N. Kluinp,
!Klump, S. Wolfe, E. Witmer and G.
' Wildfong, with Gertrude Hoffman at
the piano.
The June 'meeting of the Lutheran
Ladies Aid of Dashwood was held
recently in the church basement. The
devotional exercises were conducted
by Rev. W. Ness, after which the
President, Mrs. H. Wein took charge
oftbe ineetinge.The roll peat was
responded to by 21 members and 2
new members were received. The vis-
iting committee reported 16 cane
• made. The visiting committee for
next month is Mrs. L. Shoemaker and
Mrs. J. Schroeder and the flower
!committee is Mrs. W. Eveland and
Mrs. L. Hamacher. Arrangements
were completed for the Strawberry
Sc)cial Bazaar to be held June 22nd,

The Bell Telephone, with quite a
fore of men, have been busily eng-
aged the past few weeks trimming
trees' to suit their wires, and also in-
stalling a number of new wires and
making other improvements and ch-
anges to their equipment,
The Misses Mary and Emma John-
ston, accompanied by their sister,
Mrs. Shortt, of Windsor, and Miss
Hattie Sutherland, motored to Aub-
urn, to visit relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Manley Jinks have
been keeping house and running the
farm of Wm. Wood, a few miles so-
utheast of town, while the Woods
spent a few weeks at Sault Ste.
Marie.
Ethel Murdock spent a clay with
friends at Lucan.
George Hess is having his dwelling
nicely repainted,
Mrs, Peter Munn is having her
property repaired.
Colin Hudson has improved his
dwelling by the erection of a neaw
verandah.
Mrs. Emily Boyle and daughter,
Miss Emily, R.N., left for Toronto
recently, where they intend to make
their future home. Her son Milton,
has an excellent position in that city
Mrs. Boyle and family have been re-
sidents of Hensel] for a number of
years and will be much missed in the
village.
