RECEPTION On Satprday • evening, Junes 18th, Mr. and Mrs. Alex.Foster of Zurich, served a dainty wedding dinner in honour of their oldest daughter ,.Miss Helen, who on Saturday 17ecazne: the bride to Mr. J. D. Dickerson, of: De- troit. They were attended by Charles .E. Stocks and Miss Ruth Obershultz. Rev. Lindhart was the officiating pas- tor. The ceremony, was perrorned in the United Lutheran ,Church, on Philip Ave., Detroit. Mr. J. Dick- erson is ,an officer. in that city. After the marriage the briday couple mot- ored to the home of thebrides par- ents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Foster, of Zurich, where friends and relatives gathered to receive them. The home was decorated with pink and white roses, very suitable for the occasion, the table looking very attractive with the three story wedding cake in the centre, the top story looking very charming with a little orange blossom and silver bell The toast master be- ing the brides eldest brother Floyd, who acted in a very able manner. A social evening was enjoyed by all present. At midnight the guests ad- journed to their homes, wishing Mr. and Mrs. Dickerson a long, happy wedded life. They will be at home to their many friends after July 2nd Mr. and Mrs. Orville Steinbach of 111 South Drexel Ave., Detroit,Mieh. London, were Sunday visitors with their parents in town. . Mrs. C. Eilber spent a few days with friends at Hensall Iast week. Prof. Alvin Surerus of Toronto, was a recent visitor with his mother on the Bronson Line. Mr. Gabriel Holtzman of Kitch- ener called on friends here last we- ek. Solicitor Donelly of Goderich, at- tended the Division Court in town on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Moses Lineweber of Stratford called on Zurich friends on Sunday. Mr. William Beaver of Kitchener, renewed old friends around here the past week. Solicitors George Morley and J. G. Stanbury of Exeter attended Division Court in town on Monday. Late William Brown This week we are called upon cronicle the departing from this 1 of one of Zurich and communit most popular business men in the p son of William Brown, shoe niers ant of Zurich, who died at St. J eph's Hospital, London, on Saturd June 18th, aged 47 years, 11 mont and 23 days. Mr. Brown, who h for some years been more or le suffering from a tumor, was taken London Hospital and operated o June 13th, and while it was a ve serious operation, yet all had hop of his recovery, and he was gettin along nicely till on Saturday he too a turn for the worse, and life soo floated away into the great eternity Having been raised on the Brow homestead, Goshen Line, South, whe a young man he learned the shoe making trade with his uncle at Cred iton.• Later he became a popular re tail salesman in London, Toronto Winnipeg, Vancouver, Cavalier, N Dak., and other places, and under stood the art of fitting a persons foo very well. In February 1924 he re- urned to Zurich and started up bus- ness in the Dietz block, and has been ery successful in establishing a good rade, and his many patrons regret ery much of his untimely death. urviving are: His sorrowing widow rs.
