Mr. 'Wm, Beaver, who has been a
good resident of town for some • 18
years, owing to the deeath of his wife
a few Years age, :and his only dau-
ghter being married and living in
Kitchener, has decided to make •his
future home in Kitchener, with his
daughter, Beeides his daugeiter,
Beaver had a :number of relatives in
Kitchener and vicinity. Mr. Beaver
recently sold his dwelling property at
the northwest end of the village, and
had an auttion sale on Saturday, af-
ter which .he left .for Kitchener, arid
his many attiiends in Hensall and Hay

The Exeter Times -Advocate last
week 'installed a new Babcock -Opti -
mus press for he printing of the pap-
er. The press was purchased in Tor-
onto and brought there by truck. It
-weighs7'twelve tons and is being set
upin the basement of the building.
One of the oldest pioneers of the
Township of Blanshard in the per-
son of Mrs. Mary Highet, passed a-
way in the 100th year. Born in Scot-
land she carne to Canada in 1836
having spent a year or so in the St-
ates previous to that. Her husband
passed away 25 years ago.
At Lambeth the other day, Wm.
"Scotty" McDougall, Goderich wrest-
ler, purchased Grattan McKinney,
famed racehorse owned by the late
James Walker. The horse has a track
record of 2.04, "Scotty" is reported
to be accumulating a number of race
horses to take with him to Australia.

non, have moved into the shop form-
erly occupied by John Stanbury, wh-

the Lutheran -Ladies.' Aid was held on
Wednesday evening, May llth at the,
classroom of the church with the Vice.
President, 'Mrs.. T. Kraft 'in the chair.,
The meeting was opened by Singing'
the Hymra, Holy Ghost 1,At1t Light
Divine. Scripture reading and prayer
by the Pastor. The roll call was re-
sponded to by 21 .members present.
This was followed by a duett by Mrs.
J. Schroeder and Mrs. F. Wilds and
a reading by Mrs. L. Roeder. Reports
were given by the visiting and mem-
bership committee.
Mrs. D. Schroeder and Mrs. Win.
Nadiger were appointed visiting com-
mittee. Mrs. F. Wilds and Mrs. Ottil-
lie Restemeyer, flower committee for
the month. The constitution was read
by the Secy. after which six ladies
signed their names to the list as me-
mbers. The ladies decided to hold a
strawberry festival on the 22nd of.
June. Particulars will be given later
The meeting was closed with the
Lord's Prayer in unison..

The softball match played here on
our local diamond between Dashwood
Public School and Hensall Juniors
resulted in 11-6 in favor of Hensall.
Mrs. C. M. Hedden and family have
mo-ved back to Hensall from Clinton,
and are occupying the north half of
Alp. MsEwan's house on Brock st.
Mr. and Mrs. A.W.E. Hemphill vis-
ited with friends in Toronto.
Martha and Merle Carlile of Lon-
don, visited at their home here.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kaiser and Jno.
Kaiser of Detroit, were visitors with
friends in town.
Mrs. Allair of Kippen has gat nice-
ly settled in the house she has rent-
ed from C. Volland on Queen st.
Mattie Ellis has got settled in the
rooms she has rented from W. Doug-
al on King St
Margaret, young daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Herb. Kercher, was taken
suddenly ill the other evening while
in town with her parents. Dr. G. R.
Collyer was called and he had her re-
moved to the Hospital 'at Seaforth.
