At County Court
At the County Court at Goderich,
recently the case of Keels v. Ingram
was a long drawn out case, twenty-
seven witnesses being .heard. The
plaintiff,' Mrs. Ruby Neeb, .anal the
defendant, George Ingram, are both
residents of Hay- Township. On Sept-
ember 8 last; it was claimed, a motor
car owned by plaintiff and driven by
her :r ousel law, ' William Neeb,
while travelling on Highway No. 4
between Heusall and Exeter, collided
witha wagon. and team belonging to
and driven by defendant.' Plaintiff's
cat went into the ditch a=rid was con-
siderably damaged. It was alleged
that the defendant did. not carry a
light, although. it. was 7.45. Damages
sof 8280.30 were. asked. The jury
found for plaintiff and the judgment

seem more like Easter. But we are
still a day or so away and who knows
the weather might change to colder
and freeze up with a light blanket of
snow for the occasion.

al couple, returned from their hon-
eymoon trip to Niagara Falls . and
other points, on Friday last, and are
;getting nicely settled in their home
at the west end of town. '

nothing unexpected happens, there
will likely be another reduction in
taxes.
Drop In Imports
Canada's imports from the United
States dropped $17,000,000 in the
month of November, as compared
with the previous November, and
$45,000,000 as compared with Nov-
ember two years ago. The total im-
ports this November were only U6,-
071,000:
26,071,000. Agricultural and vegetables
products' dropped over 1,500,000 to
'a new low of $3,248,00, while the
drop in . animal products was even
more marked, the importations of iron
manufactures were reduced from
$.9,470,000 to $4,557;000. Other min -
feral products were reduced from
$9,811,00 to $7,043,000. Grain pro-
ducts, sulphur, fishing lines and raw
silk were the only , commodites bou-
ht in greater quantities by Canada
rom the United States.
Christmas fowl that the far.mbrs are
offering for sale. In fact ,'e think
the market is oversupplied `consider-
ing the rather mild weather. Prices
are of course somewhat lower than
last year, and this is a saving to the

Word has been received here last
week that Miss Roses Albrecht, who
has been a. patient at the Ontario
Hospital, London, has been removed
to the Ontario Hospital for epileptics'
at Woodstock. This latter institution

a large shipment of clothing, fruit

that city.' Included in this shipment
was a dtination of four pair blankets,

teachers and pupils of the village
school. The members ,of the League
wish to- take this medium of thank-
ing all members of the congregation
who assisted so willingly in this und-
ertaking. • Preparations are now un-
der way for another shipment to be
sent to the North-West early in Jan-
