Huron Co. Council
The regular December Session of
Huron County Council will be' held
at Goderich, on Tuesday„ December,
lst, at 2 o'clock.
Crimes of a Year
A return of convictions. by Magi*-
trate Reid for the year ended Snit -
ember 30 was completed and mailed
to Ottawa from the Po1i'P Magistrate
Office, Goderich. During. this period
there were 394 convictions, for all
offences, as compared with 493 for
i the same period the previqus year.
Summary convictions numbered 287,
as compared with 383; convictions
for indictable offences 64; as corn -
pared with 60; and juvenile court.
convictions, 43, as compared with 50
a year ago. The figures bear out, ..so
fax as they go, the well-founded th-
ory that in times of business deges-
sion there is Less resort to crime than

The Electrical Inspection Dept., bt
the Hydro -Electric Power Commission
of Ontario, have issued a. warning to
the Electrical Trade: "It has come to
our attention that several unapproved
and sub -standard types of electrical
water heaters containing particularly
dangerous features have been offered
for sale in Ontario, contrary to law.
To the seller of unapproved equipm-
ent, we draw attention to rule 103—
No person shall dispose of , or at-
tempt to dispose of any electrical
equipment, other than that which
has been approved, without furnish-
ing with it a plainly printed notice
that its use in the province of Ont-
ario is unlawful.. To the user of un-
approved equipment, Rule 108—No
person shall use any electrical equip-
ment unless and until a certificate of
approval therefor has been issued by
the Comnissio For refusing or
neglecting to comply with the prov-
isions of these rules, the offenders
are liable to prosecution under The
Power Commission Act,"
HAY COUNCIL
The regular monthly meeting of
the Council of the Township of Hay
was held in the Town Hall, Zurich,
on Monday, November 30th, with all
members present. The minutes
of the previous meeting were adopt-
ed as read.

to refund 42% of the engineer's as-
sessment on the Eacrett Drain to as-
sessed persons in the Township of
Hay, who paid their assessment in
