Hospital Bills Increase
Huron County Cleric Holman ad-
vises that indigent hospital bills wh-
ich the county must pay this year
show a heavy increase over last„ de-
spite the effort whi& the county co-
uncil has made to cheek there. In
1930 the County of Huron paid over '
$9,000 under thisheading, mostly to

having naught to do but pay the
bills. Evidence is not lacking in some
eases. that the county is being im-
posed upon. The total. of these bills
hes doubled in the past five years,

of the passing of Adam S. Manes, at
his home in Tavistock, after being
confined to his bed for a week with
heart trouble, and was thought to be
improving when he took a bad attack
and passed away on Tuesday, in his
96th year, wase native of Perth
Clarity, being ,born near Tavistock.
He was ad ardent lover of light hor-
ses and in his time . schooled many
notable prize rvvinners, and in this
interest was a frequent visitor to the
Zurich district. Was a lifelong fol-
lower :of the Evangelical church and
vaall be greatly mussed in his church.
Tia was twice married, In 1806 he was
,.r,ited in marriage to Mary Birk, of
Dashwood, who passed away shortly
after their marriage and in 1901 he
married Mary Schlotzha.uer, of Ros-
tock who survives with four sons and
Four daughters, Also a brother, Hen-
ry 3. Marin, of Tavistock. The fun -
oval was held from his late residence
on Friday and was largely attended.
